ST Renewal

I renewed my ST online last night but have a question about renewals that perhaps another ST holder can answer. I usually renew in person but this is the first time I've done it online, so I'm not really sure how it works. I've e-mailed the ticket office, but I'm a very impatient man and they're probably pretty busy today, so I thought I'd try on here too!

I'm a gold member and want to remain a gold member - but on the online form there was no option to sign-up for the cup guarantee scheme for next season. Does anyone know whether you are automatically signed up as a gold member if you renew, or do you need to opt-in to the cup guarantee scheme again (if that makes sense)? The cup guarantee bit on my account says I'm signed up for it (which I am, for this season) but I want to make sure I'm signed up for next season too.

It doesn't really matter I guess, I can always sign up again later at the expense of a few loyalty points, but I wouldn't mind knowing. I want a snazzy gold wallet too.

Anyone else gone for the two year option? I just hope it won't be two years in the Championship...

I think the 2 year option is a bit of a con. Well, a con in as much as they will just make interest on the money you’re giving them so far up front. Also, like you say, if we ended up in the CCC (although I doubt it!) I’d be seriously pissed off. I’ll be renewing as close to deadline day as possible. I think ST prices are bloody expensive (I think mine is £755 which equates to about 35-40 quid a game I think!) and from what I remember the club doesn’t offer a DD scheme. Coming up with the lump sum like that isn’t incredibly easy for a lot of people and the club’s attitude is, “oh well, no skin off our nose, there are another 10,000+ people who will pay it” which isn’t the right attitude as far as I’m concerned. So I’ll be paying my ~£755 in full in May/June whenever the deadline is.

Max, I had the same concerns re where to "gold" it when I renewed last year, as there is no difference in price between gold and silver. However, if you the cup guarantee section says you are signed up for it, you'll get the gold membership automatically.

So I guess you signed up early in order to get the free scarf and extra loyalty points then

I will probably do the two year renewal myself and probably today as I get paid today. Ultimately, if we do go into the championship we will get more league games included, so the cost per game will go down, even if it does mean we'd probably be the most expensive in that league.

But hopefully we won't go down

Just renewed for two years - surprised at how much it hurt to part with so much money in one go given the uncertainty there is, but at least it is done.

Who said anything about money? You don’t need money to afford time and affection.

You'll get a lot more time and affection off me if you stop your moaning and spend all the pre-match time down the pub instead of harping on about going out for a nice meal. Next you'll be suggesting it to be with candles and a nice bottle of wine and you'll be expecting a ring with a big rock on it!

My CD Rom at home doesn't work so will do it at work sometime. Is there anything about financing, I wouldn't mind putting it one of their credit cards as long as can pay off with no interest. And is moving an option? Though I am quite happy in 'restricted view'.

I think they open at 10. So yeah I'd find it hard to believe a Wetherspoons can open at 10 and won't serve a pint of their finest Kronenberg.

Thanks MattyP that's very helpful. I should stay gold then. Good news. Fingers crossed for a special scarf! I renewed yesterday because I got paid and I went for 2 years because I figured we would probably stay up and that ST prices would rise for the 2010/11 season - plus the VAT will be back to 17.5% (my ST is cheaper this year than last year - by £15! W00t!) - and I'm going to go anyway, so if nothing else I'll have a bit more spare cash next summer (for some World Cup watching).

To move you have to reapply for your existing ST and then make a move request afterwards.

There is a finance option- can't remember what it said, but this is on the OS.

Financing options
Thanks to the Club's excellent relationship with its credit card partner, MBNA, we are pleased to confirm that supporters who successfully apply for and receive a new Spurs MBNA credit card will be able to pay for their One Hotspur season ticket membership renewals using their new credit card with a special 0% APR interest rate until February 2010, subject to status, terms and conditions and available credit limit. Full details will be available shortly on www.tottenhamhotspur.com and will be outlined in all One Hotspur renewal packs.
In addition, the Club's regular season ticket finance partner, Zebra, will also offer One Hotspur members an alternative financing option with two different payment plans: for one year renewals, Zebra will make available its regular 10 month financing plan; for two year renewals, fans can spread the cost of their renewal over a 20 month payment plan. In both cases, Zebra Finance's payment plan is subject to status and terms and conditions. Full details will be available shortly on www.tottenhamhotspur.com and will be outlined in all One Hotspur renewal packs.

But there's no guarantee that prices will be held at the same level next year so you are saving whatever the increase would be at least, not forgetting the 2.5% saving on VAT if it reverts back to 17.5% in the mean time thats about £20 at this years price.

I'm only doing one year mind you.

Further to what MJ says about the MBNA CC, last year I got a Barclays Premiership CC which had 0% interest on Season Tickets so I pay a bit off every month...
