Squad for Australia trip confirmed

The travelling squad for this week’s visit to Melbourne, Australia, for our post-season friendly against Newcastle United has been confirmed.

We’re set to take on Premier League rivals Newcastle at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Wednesday (22 May), kick-off 7.45pm local time in Australia (10.45am UK).

When Maddison gets an unnecessary (and avoidable) knock on his ankle and misses pre-season, culminating in a December return date, I wonder if the Oz trip will be worth it then?

I'm more interested in seeing our best players represent our club and as often as possible. Levy turning a few notes for a meaningless friendly is not in the interest of the current squad.

Please, enlighten me in what is in the interest of the current squad as you have mentioned this here and else where. Do you have inside knowledge of what the players think?

Ange has said himself that they looked at this and had to weigh up what was best for the players also. So I think he will have done what is best for them also.
