I'll be honest, I don't see why we're not giving Lankshear a run out in some of these U21 games, rather than playing without a proper striker.

He's stuck in that weird limbo of not being selected for U21 games as we need him for 1st team cover and also, not getting adequate minutes as actual cover.

Yeah, it's like the Poch days.
He needs to be playing at this stage imo and there are enough u21 games for him to be getting minutes.

Monaco 1 up.
Been the better side although we had started to grow into the game.

And now 2!

2 nil down at half time and we've not really helped ourselves with some sloppy play and passing.

That said, it's a bit of a weird line-up from us with two fullbacks (I think?) in the 8 and 10 positions.
Our keeper has been a bit sketchy too.

On the break, 3 now for Monaco which is annoying because we were looking a bit better.
68 minutes gone and I'm nipping over the road to get some more beers in.

Bollocks, just got back and it's 4.
At least I've got more beer now though.

Will be clubs after him. Probably drag on.
That's what i thought - was hoping fact that we are doing and noting these things early may mean the player is on board.

Afterall, if those we do not initially offer terms to go elsewhere then we could have a very bare cupboard - it's not always the best youngers that become the best players

True but it’s worth a go with an outstanding talent at 16. Chelsea and Arsenal recently lost their best 16 yr olds to Liverpool and Man Utd respectively .
Noni Madueke was our best about 6 yrs ago but wouldn’t sign a contract at 16 and now ends up at Chelsea, via PSV . We need to pay the money to keep our best lads. Nothing guaranteed but it’s not a big outlay when you consider what they might develop into.
Having said that I always feel there is something not quite right offering a 16yr old boy thousands of pounds per week . No surprise some go off the rails.
