Vuskovic, Moore, Lanshear, Gray, Bergvall, Devine and Yang that is seven exciting young footballers all of who are mentioned as young players to watch all playing for Spurs. Even a young Harry Kane and Dele combo didnt excite me as much as these for our immediate future if they all develop as we hope and suspect. All working for an exiting attacking manager

An insane game comp for a 17 year old CB.

Yeah that’s just ridiculous. He just packed a season’s worth of highlights into one game. To think he’s a CB - a 17 year old CB - is just mind boggling when you look at his confidence, aura and ability on the ball.

As his profile grows he’s naturally going to be billed as “the next Gvardiol” but he’s a good couple of years ahead in his development at the same age. Amazing talent.

That is incredible talent. It looks way too easy for him...wish we could bump him up to an even higher league if minutes were guaranteed

So he looks like Hoddle, Ledley and Kane all rolled in to one. Can't wait to see him here. No pressure on the kid lol.
Must be great scouting to find these youngsters. I love this way we are going as a club at the moment.

A lot of things we love to hear as fans hoping to sing about our own academy players out there in Lilywhite one day!

You put trust in young players?

Ange: I think most managers would like, if they have talented youngsters, to use them. For us where we are in terms of a club, I think it is really important for what we are trying to build. I have always thought that clubs that have sustained success always have a strong underpinning of young players who grow with the team so that invariably over a period of times players move on and you are looking for replacements that they are already here. Whether that is guys who are club trained like Mikey, Will has had a couple of years with us, or we are bringing them in. Like I said last night, with the ones we are bringing in, we worked really hard to get Archie and Lucas to our club. Part of that was me saying ‘you come to our club, we will develop you, you will play and get an opportunity.’ It is easy for me to say that, get them to sign a contract and three months later they haven’t played at all and then come next window I go again and speak to the next 18-year-old and he turns around and says ‘actually, the evidence doesn’t back up what you are saying.’

I have that responsibility but at the same time they have earned it and it is an easier decision for me to make when I see them every day and I have no fear about throwing them out there. They are ready for it and want to contribute. It is always a balancing act and for a club like ours I understand how important it is, particularly for club-trained players like Mikey to make sure we keep that pathway open for them.

Before we signed him, Croatian media were already talking him up as a better prospect than Gvardiol.

Very good to hear. Ange obviously recognizes the situation the club is in yet understands young players need to be given game time. It can only work when the manager and recruitment team is synced up, which looks like is the case here. Hopefully we keep finding the Yangs and Vucovics while identifying the next Moores and Donleys. We then supplement by bringing in established talent to continue to move forward.

Dutch or Belgian club please. Have him play football, not learning to fight.
Yeah I think you make a good point here. I don't watch lots of lower league football. But when I do, the emphasis seems to be about shutting down the opposition (time /space etc) rather then anything progressive with the ball. Obvs both are important, but what comes first.

An insane game comp for a 17 year old CB.

He looks so composed under the high ball. Just uses his body weight to ease the attacker under the ball before it gets there and then calmly nods it to a team-mate. And a proper danger from corners.

I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t that.

Ridiculous
He looks very good doesn’t he? Such a unit. Good on the ball too.

Not sure how well suited to a high line he’ll be (hard to tell off that) but looks great.

Next year he could even make our squad - class scouting there

Crikey - no wonder Ange wasn’t stressing about the lack of another CB in the last window.…he looks the muts…

That's mental really. I know the quality in the league isn't top class but it's still a remarkable start to his career.
It's the 8th best top flight in Europe according to the UEFA rankings and they have five teams in European league stages this season so a bad league it is absolutely not!

Incredible that a 17 year old defender is having that sort of impact there.

Wow that was incredible. Such composure. I know it is a lower league but he's making it look easy. He is using the extra time on the ball to practise his passing so well
