Dembele was a 10 before joining us plus teenages in the 8 position are few and far between particularly in the big leagues
Moussa Dembele was a striker/10 but he wasn't creative and he wasn't a goal threat

Maddison for us last season, was our creative spark, when we lost him or he wasn't on form, we weren't creating much

From scouting Vuskovic so young, to him getting first team action, and then plenty of full matches at CB. Its been quite amazing really.

This kid just keeps progressing on almost linear trajectory.

So projecting forwards, where do we think he fits in to the squad, this time next year…U21, Bench or First team?

I assume we have time to make him club trained? Hence staying with the club coming years. Think we'll come to a point next summer where we either can't hold onto Romero due to bigger interest, or Dragusin due to lack of game time. Vuskovic to slot in and challenge behind the first choice.

First team, Davies likely to depart and Luka will be one of four main center backs. He has experience for 1st team football already on 3 decent leagues, can't see him going to U21s.

He's got Ash Phillips and Alfie Dorrington to contend with. Don't think he'll waltz right into the first team...he's only 17. I would think he plays quite a bit for the U21 and get a few minutes of first team football. But we don't know - he could come in and wow everyone and cement his spot. He does play LCB, so we'll see.

It’s pretty exciting watching his progression. I don’t U21’s either, but I sometimes wonder if age is a hindrance for breaking into the first teams.

best thing for his development imo would be to continue going out on loan ala saliba at arsenal. there's still a few more steps between playing in poland and belgium to playing for spurs and the most efficient way of getting there is by playing games with and against increasing levels of quality. i don't expect that to happen though and he'll be with us next season.

What of Alife Dorrington, what's the clubs plans for him this season?

Lot's of talk (and rightly so) about Vuskovic potential, high praise for Phillips and his exciting loan, but a little quiet on the Alfie D front. I have incredibly high hopes for AD, he has all the ingredients (experience aside) to be a very good CB who is also HG and club trained.

Won't walk into squad without playing 1st team football so likely to be sent out loan? Possibly already on january. Is Luka going to be club trained?

Just getting back from injury so once he’s back playing for the under 21s he will be on the B list for the Europa games. We’ve got 8 games so there will be opportunities for under 21s.

I don’t really understand how a player gets club trained. They have to stay with the club or they can be registered and still go out on loan? And why wouldn’t a player be club trained if they spent three years in the academy in their teenage years? Isn’t that still formative years of learning to play football?
