Santiago looking good again, admittedly weak opposition.
Wonder if he’s trying to get a move back to Spain. Bound to be clubs wanting to loan or buy him in this country.

This was really informative. Thank you

I wish your son all the best as he develops his career.
Really appreciate that, thank you!

Bloody hard industry to navigate around, that's for sure, I really do feel for all the youngsters going through this career and love to see thr successes, looking forward to seeing hoe my lad faces up against our lot this season at u21 level!

When we decide to loan our youngsters I hope we find them better clubs that are more suited to their development. You can never be 100% certain since managers get sacked and systems change but Veliz was never going to play much for Sevilla, even without all the bullshit that was going on there. Sometimes it could be players pushing for loans or their parents and agents, so I know it's not so simple every time. So far we managed to find a perfect loan for Vuskovic at least, hope others will be of similar quality.

We did though, you just can’t guarantee it. Spence, Parrott, Craig, Keeley, Devine, Phillips all had successful loans. Scarlett and Veliz didn’t. That’s not the worst strike rate. Let’s not get too hung up on the ones that don’t work out and lose sight of the ones that did.

We are all enjoying our young talents this pre-season, but would have been great to see Dorrington as well if it wasn't for his injury.

Can we hope for a League 1/Championship loan this season?

Yeah fair point. Some good minutes for Devine at Phillips and Genoa has hopefully been the turning point for Spence.

Just really bad timing for an injury like his. He is a super talented kid and I think he will most likely stay with our U21s once back fit.

I'm sure everyone's seen it but thought it worth sharing. It's not just us who loses players. The Gooners are about to lose their wonder kid Chido Obi-Martin to Man Utd. Yes, this is the lad who's been scoring goals for fun for the least three or four years. Personally, I'm not sure he's going to reach the level everyone else seems to think he will but still, its gotta hurt the Gooners to lose him.

He looked like an oversized bully from from the clips I saw. Will see whether he loses his edge when that equals out. I guess Nwaneri is their big hope at CF so it won’t hurt so much.

One of my best mates is a southern Barnsley fan, he watches them every week, he's excited by this signing 7 I've said I'll attend a couple of games with him this season with a vested interest this Season. The Barnsley fans I've met at their matches I've been to have all been a good craic tbh.

Best case scenario is gets some minutes in the Europa before going out on loan in January.

He flies under the radar but I have high hopes for George Abbott. He’s a thinking footballer with a great positional sense. I’m not sure he’ll make it in midfield but I can see him becoming a good full-back, especially in Ange’s system.

They shifted a load of young players, 17 in total. Plus Walters to Luton and Cozier Duberry to Brighton refused new contracts.
It’s good to see young players not happy to stay under 21 or on the bench these days. But not when it happens to us.
Omari Forson who debunked to Man Utd at 16 has now ended up at Monza At 19.
Apparently Meghoma at Southampton who ran off 2 yrs ago with Sam Amo is wavering over a new contract at Soton. He is 18 and has a year left , but they have just signed Charlie Taylor, a left back and already have 2 other senior left backs.
would we be tempted for a swoop . Probably not but depends on how good we think he is.

All our attacker's loans should be to the Dutch league from now on.
There are several international leagues that would be great for loans, Belgium is another one that would be ideal for a technical player, but it's a real test for a young guy to go abroad without his support system (family, club, friends) and thrive. It's not as simple as put young technical player A in technical league Y = good development. Off the field matters just as much as on the field.
