Abbott has played well today. Has actually outshone Hall by some margin.

My player ratings:

Gunter - 9 - great game yet again. Looks a real top prospect.

John - 7 - played out of position and done well.
Ashcroft - 7 - played well.
Cassanova - 7 - looked solid.
King - 7 - decent game, dealing with quick runners.

Hall - 5 - struggled massively. Outmuscled and out worked by the Sunderland midfield.
Abbott - 8 - played very well and got his deserved goal.

JSB - 7 - high work rate, did well for the second goal.
Donley - 7 - played ok, you can just see the quality in him.
Santiago - 6 - didn’t really get involved and cause any problems for their defence.

Lankshear - 10 - MotM. Excellent display, ridiculously good work rate, two very well taken goals, strength and determination in abundance.

No I’m not one of those! Genuinely just wondered, I’ll go back through this thread for an answer (y)

Great win though! Happy days
The squads are constantly changing throughout the season. Players going and coming back from loan. Players coming in for short spells playing as trialists and obviously players stepping up from lower age groups.

That's why there's no allocated squad numbers at youth level.

I know the jump up from youth level to PL is a big jump but Hall and Lankshear look exactly what we could do with

“He’s done it again”

Would love to see him make it. Boyhood Spurs fan released by Arsenal turns lethal striker and club legend. Please, football gods, make it happen.
It would be absolutely hilarious if he does make it. Big questions to be asked about the person releasing these young strikers.

Strange format. Win the league then go into play-offs to win the league?

Looking forward to going to some youth team games next year.

Hall looked a little leggy/lethagic, id keep him around U21 until jan before sending him to L1. Lankshear and Donley probably ready to go straight out on loan

This is on the PL2 website why the new format was introduced..

Why is this change being introduced?

The change came about after an extensive review of PDP competitions, which sought to enhance the transition of talented Academy players into senior football, and engaged various stakeholders, including football directors, Academy managers, first-team coaches and Academy players.

The removal of relegation introduces positive jeopardy; it supports clubs making development-first decisions, and minimises the impact of relegation on future groups of U21 players.

Also the experience of playoffs will open up to 16 teams rather than the four in Division 2 of previous seasons.
