Guess we should be thankful that our youth players aren't getting a reduction in their first team appearance minutes since the outbreak began. Small mercies.

He’s at Crystal Palace. Hasn’t played for them although made the bench a few time’s yet but did have a half season loan at Blackpool last season.

You'd have to think he thought leaving us would speed up his route into the first team. It clearly hasn't worked out that way.

didn't he want to join chelski but the deal fell through so due to the restrictions imposed to chelski?

Yeh. He left expecting us to just allow him to swan of to them lot. Unsurprisingly we promised to make things difficult and Chelksi pulled out of deal. I can't remember if he trialled anywhere else before he went to Palace but their youth system is fairly modest. They're not Premier catagory, anyway.

I was never his biggest fan. I certainly wasn't too bothered when he left other than it being a d*ck move on his part. I don't think he pulled any trees up at Blackpool. From what little I've seen of him since he's left he's a bit of a meh player. Maybe he'll come good but I remain to be convinved.

Out of interest is that because he is ex-Arsenal or are his credentials overstated?
Would much rather see us go for a foreign Head of academy Coach for a change, someone who maybe has worked in the Netherlands,Portugal,France or Germany and has a good scouting network, as for Steve Morrow I am not sure he would be a good fit and this is not because he is a ex arsenal player.

Report is quite contradictory. It says he’s on loan, but then also says he has left Tottenham.
It is a permanent move but he will not be there long because someone will pick him up and reading what he said it sounds like he did not want to play u23 football for us and you cannot blame him for that and maybe we should have said to him we will loan you out for a spell so he did not have to play u23 football, what I would like to see is our best youth players only play one season max at u23 level then after that it is the loan system for them and the only players that play more than one season at u23 football would be if a player might need a bit more time at u23 football.

An interesting story that on a boy growing up through England's youth team. Touches on Harry Kane, Jack Wilshire and others. Definite food for thought: maybe it's not the player, but the system. https://thecorrespondent.com/406/th...1v5op5IvVAcmLWeSqdoJ7KZDmd74KCigkOa8_qhL6TxSo
No doubt the system is imperfect. In the UK summer children are disadvantaged, in most other European countries kids born in November and December are constantly on the back foot. It's a lot harder to make it when you're last in the age group and playing against kids who are almost all older and thus better physically developed, you have to stand out so much more to get noticed.

It did surprise me that even Ajax haven't managed to combat the age group disadvantage, you always think of them as having their shit together.

Out of curiosity, would you say Ajax has the best youth academy and structure in the world?

Bumped into one of my friends who’s involved in Swansea City’s data analysis team while and we were talking about our youth squads nothing major but apparently

Harvey White is one being watched by a lot of championship teams apparently very talented and his set piece accuracy is exceptional?

I was at the 3-0 win for our u18s against Swansea and got talking to a scout who works for a prem club and he very much impressed with Josh Thomas, he liked that he was snapping at defenders heels for the hole match even though he did miss three very good chances to score a goal on the day.

I was very impressed with Luke Motruk who was playing as a winger one the day but he is a Defender, very good crosser of a ball and he is a strong runner.

Would not have a problem with Harvey White going on loan next year and would like to see him at a club like Colchester United in League two, I could be wrong but I think Harvey White family are from around that neck of the woods and as we have seen from Jack Roles League two is a good starting point to get him some experience under his belt.

This is just how I feel about our u23s but I would very much like to see a change of Manager and as for Harvey White he would have to walk away from Spurs because not sure we would let him go because he is one of our better players.

Josh is very highly rated would actually think he will get involved in the first team before the end of the season for the last game or so if it still happens.

it’s shame as they did have Liam Cullen who looked like he was going to be a huge talent but it just seems to be his talent has peaked or stalled.

but yeh It looks as if Harvey white is on the radar of a few not sure if it’s a loan or buy or whatever but interesting to know he’s got talent and he’s being earmarked already
