And part of the problem is that this has become, at times, a 'wine about youth policy thread' which has become harder to enjoy and learn from.

i don't think there's been too much of that lately as for most we've kind of just accepted that it is what it is. that's partly why this thread isn't as active nowadays as no one feels strongly enough to moan about these things anymore. plus as mentioned, some active users have moved on for whatever reason.

The informative part of this thread from yourself and others is fantastic and really should be encouraged.

Just seen this on the other site, Love the way Roles seems to fit in with the first team . Shows he has a great character , they all seem to be enjoying themselves . was it pre season ?

Looking at the potential new scholars for next season I would be surprised if they number greater than 8. As far as I can ascertain the following look certain ; - Dane Scarlett(FW)(Eng U16), Jordan Hackett(LB/CB)(Eng U16), Dante Casanova(FB/MF), Aaron Maguire(GK)(Eire U16 & EngU16) and Roshawn Mathurin(W).
From the rest of the U16's maybe Khalon Haysman(MF), Ben Watt(DF)(Eng u16) and Renaldo Torraj(W).

Outsiders from Oliver Turner(LB), Ferdinand Okoh(MF/CB), Mark Hudson(LB) and Hamid Abdul-Salam(DMF). Charlie Allen(MF) from N Ireland and Josh Aldridge(MF) from Cheltenham Town are also possibles.
Can any of our fellow contributors update or confirm the above or other names in the running.

All of the ones in your first post will be in the academy next year. Don't see how they can't be. Knowing our love of keepers Adam Hayton will likely be invovled in too.

Ollie Turner (I thougth was an AM) seems to be liked so imagine they'll keep him, and I think Hudson stands a good chance of staying in. I know there's been a few trialists over the last year and some let go, so not sure if there will be some last minute additions.

Also I'd be surprised if they don't keep a big CM type i.e. HAS or Okoh, though I know Kymeretan plays a lot but not sure if is the same age group or an u15.

New loan rules being talked about coming in end of this season. Limits to the number of over 22 year old loans to 8 (in/out) per club dropping down to 6 after 2 years.

Intended to increase the opportunities for younger players to go on loan.

Thoughts?

Not sure if I asked before. But surprised Solberg hasn’t featured at all. I know he’s young but he’s an absolute monster has he been playing for U16 ?

The moaning and negativity puts me off every thread
I know what you mean. In Spurs Chat I only really visit this thread, the opposition fans thread and the occasional match thread, I try to stay away from 95% of the other threads on this section. General football and Chat are much nicer.

Just use the ignore button. It makes every thread a lot more enjoyable as it is the same posters who just moan constantly
