Pleat was massively responsible for the change in transfer policy in the mid-2000s which saw us have an influx of young players largely from within the English lower divisions. He was either directly responsible or laid the groundwork for signings including Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone, Michael Dawson, Simon Davies, Anthony Gardner and Michael Carrick.
That period actually set us on our way to becoming a club that competes for European football

Playing really well today.

Robson and Cooper linking up well. Cirkin quality, as per, and defence seem to be going well, and Cesay good. Hopefully follow up with a good 2nd half. Should be better with White and Bennett still to come on

Should have been a easy win today but we did not finish our chances,Chay Cooper is having a very good season and he should have had two goals today, don't know if you noticed today but I think Cooper has found a bit of extra pace and he is looking a bit faster of late?

Tbh yesterday Mourinho could easily have gone with Foyth KWP or Wanyama to fill the bench but went with Parrott even though he knew he’d get a chance on Wednesday. Will be very interesting if makes the bench Vs Wolves.

I think it was purposeful so many kids were on the bench. I believe it was the plan to give parrot skipp and sess minutes to give them that extra confidence for starting against Bayern. A good decision imo.

Nice to see the younger guys being given that chance to play at the highest level. We have a few good youngsters that need experience so it’s a good start!

Read an article about us signing Ferguson and it said that Tashan Oakley-boothe is also expected to be given a chance against Bayern, how has he been this season ?

He has been frustrating to watch just like other seasons gone,he is a talented player who is still very much hit and miss on match days and he is more miss than he is hit and I do not think he has been playing well enough over a long period of time to deserve a opportunity like that.

On form over the last year or so this list of player have been our best youth players and the first two names would deserve a massive opportunity like a Bayern match on form alone. Harvey White,Dennis Cirkin,Luis Binks,Josh Oluwayemi and J’Neil Bennett who is not back to his best yet and he was taken off injured yesterday and I hope it was nothing bad.
