Its a little disturbing. That's the second ex-Spurs player who developed a gambling/drinking problem while away on loan. (The other being Steven Caulker). I wonder if there are any others we don't know about. Please DO NOT speculate!
It definitely is a backside with the loan policy, and possibly one of the reasons why Poch didn't approve. Trying to put myself in their position, I definitely understand how shit it must be. You get to a strange town and meet a bunch of new, not particularly friendly people. Training and stadium facilities are probably pretty shitty, and at this stage of their career, they're not even making that much money. I'm not saying money makes you happy, but it's a lot easier to motivate yourself to go to a shit job if it pays well.

Depends if you're a grown up teenager or a spoilt premier league footballer one thats had everything including his bum wiped for them. I'm sure 20 years ago the players were ok going away on loan.

If you are a youth player of Tottenham ready to go out on loan to the championship, League 1 or even 2, you make more than enough money for someone that age. There are some sacrifices you need to be willing to do if you want to reach the highest level. If you don't have that mindset and are actually unhappy to get competitive football minutes because the city is a shithole you will probably never ever make it.

In very few jobs in the world the first steps of the career are easy and at the beginning filled with not so impressive tasks. Get yourself through it or fuck off.

Yeah, the proper football men back in the day never had any issues with drugs or alcohol, did they?

Mental health issues are extremely common in all of sports. And not getting acceptance for your mental struggles just because you're rich, famous and priveleged is part of the reason why some choose to kill themselves.

thats not what I was saying at all, you’re trying to make out I’m belittling mental illness which is a million miles away from something I’d do. I was talking about some players are grown up and can deal with it and some cant because of how they've been brought up Exactly what Andros alludes to in the article.

"I’m not even being funny when I say that playing in the Premier League is easier, in a way. As a skill player, you’re a lot more protected. You’re eating salmon at the canteen and going for a little nap. You’re not eating pub food on a five-hour bus ride up to Carlisle. In the Premier League, you can be a bit of a dickhead and nobody is really going to do anything to you. In League One, it’s totally different. At Yeovil, we were in the relegation zone. My teammates were literally playing for their livelihood. Their cars, their houses. I had no perspective."

Bring back the reserves under an assistant Manager
or whatever you like to call him.
Play at the training ground
and ensure the two squads meet, socialise and train together.
Maybe a third team as in La Liga.
Keep it all in house and under the Manager's scrutiny.
For everyone that loans toughen up I would guess there's two that fall by the wayside.

4-0 FT Bowden has a Hat-trick

Both teams ended the match with 10 men.

I was not at the match but looking at the teams that was a good result because that was not the strongest team we could have put out, no Parrott Harvey White and Bennett on the bench and Harvey White has been one of our best players of late.

Is Bowden a player with Premier League potential, I've seen him a couple of times on TV but I’d be interested to hear more informed opinion?

Currently have 22 fit outfield players. So 2 will miss out on both games. Probably Wanyama and someone else likely Tanganga I guess.

pleat was seen chatting to José yesterday, love to have heard that conversation. Probably “ this is the man that found dele “ lol. Has pleat actually discovered any other players for us ?

Pleat was massively responsible for the change in transfer policy in the mid-2000s which saw us have an influx of young players largely from within the English lower divisions. He was either directly responsible or laid the groundwork for signings including Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone, Michael Dawson, Simon Davies, Anthony Gardner and Michael Carrick.
