He was sold. I imagine with a large sell-on %.

Think the same kind of deal as Edwards and Shashoua has been done. Almost like an inflated development fee.
Seems so be playing a fair few games for them, good on him

Just looking in the loan thread and we have Luke Amos, George Marsh, Jack Clarke, Jack Roles, Anthony Georgiou, Kaziah Sterling and Cameron Carter-Vickers all out on loan.

Last year we also had Marcus Edwards, Josh Onomah, Shayon Harrison, Kaziah Sterling, Sam Shashoua, Luke Amos, Anthony Georgiou and Connor Ogilvie.

Are we perhaps learning the error of our ways and starting to give some of our guys consistent time playing meaningful football?
Any expected to make it now. Loans need to be made to advance a player to the squad not as a shop window out.

Hopefully this is an area that will change with the stadium $. When you’re on a shoestring budget, that extra few million/year in academy salaries isn’t feasible. With a little more cushion, perhaps the ability to invest more in the academy ranks.

The manager has to embrace it though.

Coming out of the KWP thread I really feel the need to question our handling with some youth players. Top modern facilities, yet the last one fully integrated in the first squad is Winks.

I had a look at the U21 sides in 2016/2017 where Onomah and KWP were playing in. Basically everyone else who started these games has left his mark in pro football. Dean Henderson, Tomori, Alexander-Arnold, Lewis Cook, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin, Abraham, Solanke, Gray, Maddison, Mount, Tom Davies or Chilwell. It is hugely disappointing that players like KWP, Onomah, CCV or Edwards can not make that final step to impress in the Premier League. Why is that? Coincidence? Down to players? Down to the manager? Shit or none loan spells?

The answer is obvious and I don't think any of us disagree.

Has anyone been keeping tabs on Tashan Oakley-Booth? Wasn't he mean to be one of the most promising in our academy?

What’s happened to maghoma , seems to have fallen out of favour , as was an unused sub . Markanday too light weight at the moment , Bowden no effect at all , eyoma nothing to offer , Oakley booth nothing to offer either , white cannot just depend on his set plays . Bennett Has to drop the moaning and throwing his hands in the air . Maybe we can win our last 2 games ?

If you believe that Bennett is close to CHO or Mount in ability you have to reevaluate your process in appraising footballers.

Spurs have a certain philosophy when it comes to their academy and its not as high powered as the top European academies, to pretend that we possess the same quality as those academies you are fooling yourself.

Pochettino has been poor the last couple of seasons in transitioning a few players into the first team squad but the ceiling of the players hes failed are not that high, plus the mitigating circumstances of Spurs chasing trophies means its not a high cost grievance.

If Poch had supressed CHO or RLC then it would be outrageous but not giving Oakley-Boothe or Onomah 1k minutes is not something to cry about.
As someone who has watched mount than anyone on this forum, I can tell you there isn't that much difference in quality/potential between onomah and Mount

I remember when the Chelsea fan who came on this forum and said there isn't much between RLC and Onomah when he was comparing the two youth academies at the time.

Mount has now kicked on his career, but why is that?

Because he had a manager in Lampard believe in him and play him in a role that suits him. Last season Lampard dropped Davies(who is a starter for pretty much most other championship clubs) after impressing whilst Davies was out. He had his academy manager with him who knew to get the best of him.

Look at Harry Wilson, he is doing brilliantly for Bournemouth had it not been for Morris and Lampard giving him a free run in a top 6 side in the championship(which btw rarely happens look at Clarke, this season), Wilson would never be allowed to kick on
