? We have reached agreement with Stoke City for the transfer of @BootheTashan.

We wish Tashan well for the future.

I know he hasn't kicked on at all since the U17 WC win but he must have wanted to leave or surely a loan would've been more reasonable?

TOB has been driving me mad over the last few months and I am happy he has moved on.

Good move for him and us, he is a talented player that does not impact matches and this is the best news for everyone.

All these youngsters leaving the club in the past week, what was the point of Poch not letting them go out on loan if they were never going to be good enough for the first team.

He wanted to keep them around to train them himself but hasn't done them any good. Their careers have been held back in my opinion.

None of the player leaving at the moment are a massive hit to us and I am only talking about the youth teams not the first team.

what happens with Luis Binks is the main concern for us.

I was a Poch fan and I still like him as a person but not loaning out players was not a good move.

Not current crop of course but Tom Carroll has left Swansea. Free agent.

Never worked out for him sadly. I remember "everyone" saying how amazing he'd become when he beefed up a little, but he just never has.

Lovely footballer and great lad but hasn't ever found his "role". He's not really anything in particular but he's also not a jack of all trades. I think his style and technical quality convinces people that he'll make a good part of a team but he doesn't have a role. He's not a ball winner, not a screener, not a box to box, not a deep playmaker, not a roaming playmaker, he's not a creative ten, or a wide playmaker or an attacking midfielder or a winger or a second striker. He's... I don't know what he is and that's the problem.

Pleased he's out, not sure Stoke is the right move for him, hopefully they know his style of play. Just get him sitting deep and he could do well, but brave move for him. Another who has been handled appallingly hopefully he can get his career back on track.

Sad as he's arguably the best u16 I'd seen but good luck to him

Yeah, Clarke and maybe Roles and possibly Eyoma aside the rest of those loans are getting them out the door and them getting their actual career started. Most of those wont be back.

To be honest I don't really like seeing that long list though, for me loans should be a specific development aim - say 6 or 12 months of getting used to competitive adult football at a level where they will get lots of minutes - for a player that the club feels might have some sort of future and pathway towards the first team squad. Otherwise some players should be doing a year or two stint so we can fulfil U23 fixtures, the rest should just be released/sold to get on with their careers/lives. I just don't get what the likes of CCV for example are doing bouncing around on a different loan every six months going in and out of various teams in a permanent state of flux. He and others like him should be brave enough to go out and find somewhere they can set down some roots and build a career (for CCV, MLS surely an option with his national team rep. if he cant get an English league gig) and clubs should stop stockpiling players they have no real interest or concern in and let them go.

Austin is a good keeper and I think he is better than Whiteman who I would let go.

I mean this is great news, such a clear shift in policy under Mourinho. According to Hercules he essentially wants everyone over 18 out on loan, as feels players and club have suffered due to stifling development.

I'm sure a few of us have posted similar once or twice in this thread....

Only shame is Skipp didnt get one.

Just shows how stupid the whole manager knows best argument was, when developing academy players. When Poch started holding onto players some fans complained but were met with; trust Poch, he's qualified he's seen them in training, he knows best, he's a manager bla bla bla.

A new manager comes in, does something completely different, now who's right? Whose practices develop academy players better Poch or Mourinho? We'll find out sooner or later, but the total shut down of anyone having a different opinion to the previous regime was dumb, when a completely different approach is taken by someone else.

I think people forget how good Whiteman was a first year before he disappeared into purgatory. Austin is very reliable and a good keeper, but there could be recency bias. No one has seen Whiteman play football in how long. He was England's keeper and despite the completely pointless nature of it, was actually kept around the first team a lot more than Austin. So he was clearly highly thought of by our previous goalkeeping coach

I have seen Whiteman for the u23s this year he played against Ipswich in the cup, he has not improved as a keeper and you know I like De Bie who has played a bit more this year and we also have Josh Oluwayemi who is a very good keeper.
