RE: Mourinho and youth - I think it is worth thinking about each of his club’s remits and their public perception. How many managers at those clubs have provided significantly more meaningful opportunities for academy players?

I am looking forward to a few of our academy players in limbo playing - whether with us or on loan.

I haven't been keeping up with the youth of late but do we have any players who people think are worthy of first team minutes? Poch clearly didn't think so, so not sure why Mourinho would.

Parrot, Tanganga and Skipp solely based on their performances in pre-season.

Agree they looked decent however it was pre season. If anything I think Jose is more likely to get them good loans if they're close but not close enough. And to me that is much better than just training all the time.

close thread. None of these getting near the first team for the foreseeable.

if people were annoyed about how few chances the youth got under Poch, then the reaction to Mourinho will be interesting.

Yeah and based on that they should have been given a chance already. Not starting every game, but being subbed on etc.

John McDermott must be on suicide watch at the
moment. I wonder if he’ll seek a new challenge in the near future.

any thought on Mou appointment here? is it going to be worse regarding our youth?
What could seriously be worse?

Not give youth a chance ;)

At least now, they won't develop by constantly training lol

Players can go on loan for experience. A player like Skipp will have the opportunity to develop and make strides playing games as opposed to TOB who spent a year just doing nothing

He made Rashford 1st team regular when easily could have bought first summer and gave Mctominay his chance. Pretty much equal with what Pochettino did in 6 years.
