EFL trophy really doesn’t bring us anything at U23 level - those players should be pushing to compete at league cup/Europa league level at least, not a competition that even league 2 clubs do not take seriously.

unless the U18 level could get value out of it, which I don’t think they could as the physical difference is too much, why divert the resources, especially when we have lots of Europa league fixtures

Orient did play a friendly yesterday, and on their website, they do list 2 of the players that played as "Trialist" so don't know if a)he is there, and b)if he featured yesterday for them. Does seem odd one tho, as, he does seem highly rated by a lot of people, and we're not exactly overloaded with strikers atm.

I like the approach of actively getting the younger players food loan moves and it makes sense for Etete to be the next.
I personally think after the qualifying rounds of the EL we will see loans for Skipp and Clarke and perhaps others .

I agree, although someone currently deemed surplus / not ready for the 1st team may do enough to change Mourinho's mind during the crazy 9 matches in 21 days. I wouldn't be surprised to see Skipp, Tanganga, Sessegnon, Foyth, Cirkin etc. all being called on at times, to keep the team fresh, even though probably none of them would step on field under normal circumstances (barring injuries). Hopefully that's a positive thing!

Anyone seen much of Harvey White?
According to various media sources, Mourinho has hinted at being one of the most likely youth team players to break through in the near future. Apparently he's a CM but did a decent job at LB at times last season...that's all I can find on him.

Only seen him in the pre season games but looked great on the ball and composed. I think the manager has name dropped him a few times which is encouraging.

Shame it's not to a pl team.
Think the kid is young enough that a championship loan makes sense. I'd say the club would have a 2-3 year progression plan to actually playing and having an impact for us. Going to a Championship team where he'll likely start most games and be a key player is a good start. If he thrives move along to a premier league side the year after (us or another loan) where he'll get good game time and be better equipped to put his best foot forward. This year might be too early for a premier league team and if he goes there and plays 20% of games it'd do nothing for him.

I don't think he would get enough game time at a Prem team at his age.

I think a top Championship team is a much better fit and hopefully we are also speaking to them about Aarons as I think he would be an excellent signing.

Shame Skipp is going to the Championship. He's definitely a PL level player and should be playing for us especially with how many fixtures we have, but I accept there is no guarantee that will happen so playing a full season is better than no games. Hopefully he does well there
