Who is he gonna buy to score the bloody goals, same every week, cannot score, then bloody high line exposed again and again....
We bought two strikers but they are both injured. How many strikers do you want ? We aren't Chelsea with what is it 8 goalkeepers.

We battered Newcastle yesterday and if any of Richarlison, Solanke or Lankshear had been playing they’d have scored a couple of goals.

We’re playing great football and look to attack every time we win the ball, which is all the time. This is the Spurs that I want to watch, love this current team and I think we’ll have a good season.

"Usually in my second season, I win things. That's the whole idea. First year is about establishing principles and creating a foundation. Hopefully the second year is going onto win things." Ange Postecoglu 18 Aug 2024

That was a couple of weeks ago - no mention of a five year plan.

Another five year plan, thank God Levy wasn't running the Country during the War.

He would still be deciding if we could afford the D-Day landings.

Richie is always injured, we had a full quota of strikers against Leicester, same thing, we cannot keep making excuses, the system needs looking at, repeatedly last season, dominated and cannot produce goals..

We actually scored more goals last season without Harry than the season before with him.

Scoring isn't the issue (we are averaging two a game), it's the suicide line as I call it. The Toons second goal is a rinse and repeat of a dozen or more we conceded last season.

Ange won't change so we have to get used to it.

Agree on Ritchie though, he should have been sold, if not this Summer in January or next Summer. He's played a quarter of a game (none in pre-season) and is not fit for purpose.

Sorry to sound harsh, but truth sometimes hurts.

I suggest you watch their second goal again

Whomever thinks the highline isn't costing us points, can look at any of our thirty eight games from last season to see where we concede our goals.

Forget about defending corners and set pieces. The real problem is the suicidal highline we play. It is really that straightforward, and if you cannot believe your own eyes, I am sorry but you are in denial.

If Ange was to lower the defensive line his system wouldn't work. Part and parcel I'm afraid. When it goes well we look amazing, when it fails we look like a bunch of kids.

On this 5 year year plan BS, in 5 years Son will have retired, Couti will have left along with anyone with ambition. The 5 year plan is nonsense, just a media statement to string fans along and give them a false sense of hope whilst they are being fleeced.

We should have bought better players. Oderbert looks promising but so did Gil. We paid 20 mil plus Lamela for Gil. We talk about Ndombele being a monumental waste of money but that's another car wreck.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Given the number of managers we've had over the years there always seems to be a 'transition' period because the current manager is invariably sacked and the next one subsequent wheeled in.

There's only a finite number of decent managers out there and eventually the pool will run dry.

It's a bit like the Democrats in the States. Eventually they're going to run out of dead voters in their quest to thwart Trump, or whomever follows him.
We probably need to adopt the Trump approach. Wherever we finish, we claim that as the title.

Trump's aside though, that's why it's patently obvious that we'll never progress by constantly recycling coaches.

The high line works with VDV and not so well without him - we need to be able to adapt slightly when he’s not playing, ie make sure you get goal side as soon as we lose the ball

The only thing I can see resembling a 5 year plan is the acquisition of players like Bergvall, Gray, Vuskovic, Odobert etc. Phase them in with VdV, Vicario, Udogie etc who should be in their prime by then. The usual problem though is that the older players don't want to hang about and hope that long and look to move on earlier.

we should have a 5 year plan

it doesn’t mean we can’t compete sooner, it means we have plans to replace son, Romero etc when we need to have back up plans and transfer targets Ready. contingency planning is key also we should have the next player ready to go in that position already so we’re not replacing the plants left we’re replacing the player that back up. Of course we need to buy stars or ready made players to fill certain spots.

for to long we have had no plan. We have the perfect season to build we can use Europe and cups to bring forward Mikey Moore, lanks, pos Devine I think his still here, bergvile and grey..

tbh I think it was a good window most clubs have struggled to buy players, they have been trying hard to shift players and reduced there wage Bills.

there is a shortage of 6s 1v1 wingers and strikers, we signed all 3. Notice how clubs chelsea a side didn’t take risks, Toney, VO, sancho etc no one went in for, ffp has changed football. Clubs are now looking at character and wages they have all realised wages cripple you.

fees and wages seem to have dropped, I think we have adapted to the new ways under 24s are what everyone’s fighting over. So we have had to sign 17-19 yrs olds to be one step a head.

We have a very talented crop in bergvile, gray, Moore, Wilson, lanks, hall, dorrington, Devine, Phillips and JD

i genuinely think 3-4 will become stars
