I'd say it was always the case, when Ange first came in he said it would take a number of windows to change the squad to be able to challenge!

We were missing two strikers today. Hard to blame the manager or the transfer policy on a one off situation like this.

The high line was not the problem. If we could finish, we win 4-2 and nobody cares about the line.

Richie is always injured, we had a full quota of strikers against Leicester, same thing, we cannot keep making excuses, the system needs looking at, repeatedly last season, dominated and cannot produce goals..

You say we had "a full quota of strikers against Leicester", but Solanke had played the grand total of - checks notes - ZERO games in a Spurs shirt before that one. Not even a pre-season game. Worth reserving judgement for a few months at least I'd say?

Yes, we all had a full quota of strikers, he is a bloody professional, he trained all week, not knocking his talent, we keep going with excuses, transition period is over, so it don't matter how many check notes/ zero games. The full front line should be and must do better.

Maybe. I thought Kulu was diabolical today, albeit not in his best position.
I'm surprised if you did. I thought he was one of our better players at creating space and winning the ball up the pitch.

But I guess that's why we love football, right.

If you don't like transition periods, you're really going to dislike the next season or two. Ange is talking about a 5 year plan, and given the very promising but young players we've signed, I'd get settled in for the long haul if I were you.

5 year plan! We are barely able to keep to a 1 year plan. Nobody gets 5 years in modern football.
True, if we’re talking 5 years of abject failure. Arteta’s been at Arsenal 5 years, and they stuck with him when for the first 2-3 seasons, it seemed like many of their fans were baying for him to get the sack. That was presumably because the club - despite many frustrating results - could see the shoots of what he would go on to deliver. I hope we stick with Ange for a while yet, even off the back of super frustrating games like today.

So do I, but it's hard and not convinced at all yet.
Richarlison should have gone and sat on a Saudi physio bench, he would have earned more money doing it there.

we've had a 5 year plan for the last 25 years. every time we have a new manager he has a 5 year plan and when Ange goes the next guy will have one. We need to buy the right players at the right time the way Liverpool and City and in the past couple of seasons Arsenal have. They see what's lacking and where they need to reinforce or replace and go for it. It doesn't need in most cases probably more than 2 players or in some cases just one but they are the right ones for the right positions and regardless of cost. We often buy 3 and sometime 4 players when 2 quality ones would do the job.
Our starting eleven are virtually the same as last season which wasn't a great one. so why would anyone expect it to be any better?
When we had Kane and Son at his peak and Eriksen if we had built around them with real quality we would be challenging for top honours most seasons. What we have is a squad that half are good at best but never going to win us anything and the other half need the best possible support.

Given the number of managers we've had over the years there always seems to be a 'transition' period because the current manager is invariably sacked and the next one subsequent wheeled in.

There's only a finite number of decent managers out there and eventually the pool will run dry.

It's a bit like the Democrats in the States. Eventually they're going to run out of dead voters in their quest to thwart Trump, or whomever follows him.

Ah yes, still remember ENIC's/Levy's first 5 year plan back when they took over the club....

"Levy, 38, will be responsible for overseeing a five-year plan for Tottenham designed to return the club to its position as one of the country's top sides. A formal announcement of the deal will be made this morning to the Stock Exchange."

Indeed, look at Watford, they promoted Tom Cleverly to first team manager but in all fairness he’s had a great start.
Probably get the chop by October though.
