Only watched the last 25 minutes but thought we looked OK. There will be acres of space if Wolves come out and attack second half, hopefully that second goal sets us up nicely.

How's that goal for you all you miserable bunch? Get behind this knackered team putting everything on the line for you!
I agree whether you’re Ange in or out at least get behind the players on match days and cheer them on. This squad is nowhere near as bad as is made out on here, by both sides.

Definitely feel like we've mixed it up more today and gone long a lot more. Whilst we haven't had as much of the ball we haven't invited loads of opportunities to counter us.

Son has been flogged to death. At this point in his career he simply can’t cope with these kinds of demands.

Ange really should have been playing Maddison or Werner on the left much more than he has done through the festive period.
Put Maddison on the left of the 3, then play Sarr and Biss as 8's either side of Bentancur as the DM. Watch our midfield immediately become stable and our attack more creative.

That would require a deeper understanding of the game however, beyond "get it up the wings to the byline then cut it back".

Not sure how much was by design but we've been less open today. Hopefully we keep playing like this from now on

Agreed, I noticed when we were pressing and we seemed to keep a flat back 4, the fullbacks weren't charging forward to join the press

We’re winning which is great though would like us to control the game a little more.

Bissouma been really poor imo.

Son needs an extended break. If he's not even able to convert pens anymore there's truly no value he's providing. Passenger / 10 men vibes at the moment.
It was one penalty miss. He’s not been great these last few weeks but he’s been one of our greatest ever players, and he’s still scoring goals. Dips of form have been a feature of his career, and weve stuck with him during those spells for one simple reason: when he’s in form, he’s unplayable and wins matches with his unrivalled brilliance. It’s far too early to write him off:

Is there a point in time that we decide that Johnson is a striker fit for a 442? He offers nothing from the wing, but so dangerous and clinical in the box..

A reminder of how good we are when we're actually on it.

Lots of moaning in here (as per...), but given the circumstances, think we can be very happy with that first half. Now back it up in the second 🙏
If this is us "on it" then I want him out even more. :D

Nice well worked second goal, and great delivery for the first. Pretty mundane the rest of the half. We've made 2 bits of quality count which is a lot better than it's been for sure, but it's been a pretty meh performance all in all.

His workrate helping the back and his low confidence on taking people on is what his problem is, infront of Goal he has always been good, specially from Crosses. BNut with his speed, he should be taking on the backs a lot more!
His work rate is notably improved today

Still feel very strongly that Ange needs to pull Son at halftime. Werner or Maddison.

I think it will do Son a world of good, and he is likely carrying too much pressure to perform right now. Needs a mental break as much as a physical break, and if he feels bad about it now - maybe it will motivate him later.

You on Optus too? They are gutted for some reason.
They are always like this…. And to make it worse; this is the Premier Leagues own in-house broadcast and commentary team:

At least for once is isn’t Andy Townsend.

The roles that were played by Lolo, Johnson, then Deki and Johnson again were super.

I'm no fan of how Son is playing at the moment and think he should be dropped from the starting 11.

But to give him abuse and vitriol? Seriously??? The ones doing that for a period of bad form after what this guy has done for us are just wasting oxygen.

Not for me. Not many refs going to give that. Had it not been given , not many players or fans going to complain
Nah, clever from Johnson, defender went through him to get the ball. They’re given more often than not these days.

With Johnson, to get his best, we need to have him run in behind, make the runs and hit him on long. Thats the best way he is going to have the edge to beat his man. Dragusin did it well couple of times. Need to see more of it
