I say you need a dictionary. You use the word fickle. He didn't change the team he supported. He chose not to attend.

There are teams in the relegation zone playing better football and charging way less to their supporters.

Supporters aren't fickle for not being happy. Shows they care. The fan boy customer is the one that accepts everything the company supplies without question, and then calls out others cos they aren't fan boy customers.

Then dont buy a fucking season ticket if all it takes to turn your back on the team you support frequent is a bit of less than inspiring football for two months in a time when things are going so badly we're only the sixth highest ranked team in the country.

Obviously cares so much at the slightest time its not gone great they fuck off and go shopping instead. Thick and thin my ballsack.

If a season ticket holder and supporter decides they cant be arsed to go to watch one of the biggest games of the season so far where the team he supports is playing a top side in a battle for qualification for a competition reserved for only the elite teams in Europe because he currently is in a huff with the quality of football in display then i am perfectly entitled to call him fickle. I can do that because that is the literal definition of fickle.

I say supporter, i mean customer. I hope he kept the receipt.
I think a more appropriate term is fair-weather fan.
In fact, it's the very definition of it.

It may be two teams tomorrow trying to see how little possession they can control ;) .

Not only will Wolves be playing away, but their whole style is based on containment and counter-attack. Midfield could be a lonely place.

They do though play with intensity and are tactically good. Far more adventurous than we will be. We have no tactics but park the bus and hope for a boot up front from the back somehow gets us a goal. No doubt proof of the tactical genius of our manager but not football in my book. Whoever plays for us makes little difference as It is all about the mentality behind the approach to games

Not much, we were shit 12 months ago.

Dude I know how much you've invested in Mourinho but you've let it become an obsession. 12 months ago we'd just tonked Dortmund at home - despite an injury crisis - and had managed that injury crisis well enough to still be well out in front in the race for Top 4.

Our league form is about to collapse but out CL run continues.

So, no - we weren't "shit 12 months ago". We were about to make a CL Final and make Top 4.

Get a fucking grip. Just because depressives are complaining about our form now doesn't mean you have to makeup shit about us then.

For what its worth - I'll be there tomorrow and can't understand any supporter who wouldn't be without great cause. We are supposed to support the team through thick and thin. That's what "support" is.

Depressives are making out the wheels have just fallen off, when in reality it happened a long time ago.
Stop being so sensitive about it.

Apparently Norwich have more clean sheets than we do and they are bottom that is truly shocking of a so called big club, don't know what to think about tomorrow result wise but I certainly expect to concede goals plural.

We didn't have Hugo for most of the season and I'm sure that would have not helped!

No was at that match. We shaded the first half but the 2nd half they were all over us. It was the start of the end of the great side we had before that to what we have now imo
I was there too. Different recollections. Agree with the last sentence. It was a turning point.

A turning point. The big one was completely dominating United at home yet losing 0-1. That was the moment we lost touch in the title race.

The title race.

That's where we were at that time.

I thought our season would collapse after that. It eventually did in the league but not for another 6 weeks.

That doesn't mean you get to make up shit about what happened last season.

It's so fucking petty that you can't handle people being over-reactive to our current state of shit because you've personally invested so much in Mourinho when you are even worse about our last season under Poch. Stop making shit up about stuff that actually happened ffs. Just makes you look silly and doesn't help Mourinho (who deserves support) at all.

WALOB.
I may not feel very confident, but the Manager has my sympathy.
He first fixed a sinking ship.
He got us to within touching distance of top 4.
He’s lost his two best attacking players; I think even Liverpool would struggle without Salah & Mane.
He’s inherited a record signing who is unfit.
He’s lost one of his most experienced and energetic midfielders.
He lost his first choice LB to injury in his first match in charge.

Not a lot has gone right for him or the team. And yet we fight on.

Credit to the lads. COYS.

Ask Norwich what they'd rather have. 40 points and 6th place or clean sheets and rock bottom of the league pal

Can't see them not scoring, not sure if I can see us scoring a minimum of two goals to win this match if required.

Can't let Neves dictate the play from midfield. Not forgetting Jiminez who's having a great season and was rested on Thursday, and Vertonghen maybe having to face up to the rapid Traore in the left half of defence.

Tough game, and sadly, one I'd be surprised to see us win.

Usually pretty optomistic pre game, maybe wrong, just not feeling it today. :nailbiting:

Really hope we can get something out of this game to stay in touch. Chelsea are doing everything they can to throw away 4th if only we could capitalise.

Mentality a big factor here - the team have to believe they can win, even with the depleted squad. COYS

Everyone calm down. This is a difficult season, for sure. While our recent performances have been blunt, we have two of the best attacking players in the world currently injured. We’re still struggling as a consequence of two empty windows and Mourinho took over a team in crisis without the benefit of a full preseason and time to bring in players he wants. Yes, we’ve looked incoherent and vulnerable at times. Yes, we’re playing a form of counterattacking football that lacks bite at the moment. Yes, our defence looks poor. Our midfield is often disjointed. Our attack flaccid. But circumstances have really punched us in the scrotum this season, and clearly where we are at the moment isn’t where Mourinho envisages us to be next season.

So stop the moaning and infighting (myself included) with each other, quell the anxiety, kick frustration in the gonads. Just accept this season as a weird one and mark July 1st in your calendars as the genuine start of something new.

And remember this: we may be frustrated at the moment. We might even wake up tomorrow bald, unloved, shrivelled in penis and in statue, derided, decried, de-friended, impotent, devalued, desecrated in status. But we will never be an Arsenal supporter. And sometimes that’s enough

I'm sorry, but that is nonsense! I've been a spurs fan since 81. I fell in love with spurs on that first day, against wolves ironically enough, and my love is umdimmed almost 40 years later. I go on holiday and the first thing I organise is how I'll watch any games that are on while I'm there. I've sat with my phone in my hand watching/listening to games during my daughter's ballet classes, family dinners, parties. My family and friends know that if spurs are playing, I'll be watching it no matter what
Watching spurs is a huge part of my life. I've been a member here for 16 years and post most days. So I take great exception to somebody telling me that I dont support my team because I've decided that I dont like what I'm watching, that it runs against our heart and soul as a club, that I dont like the manager, the tactics. Most of us endured the 90s the daily abuse from gooners and chelsea fans. George Graham, santini, AVB, Sherwood, etc etc supporting spurs is to suffer, we all know it, but in amongst the daily suffering comes occasional days of glory, that despite our failings we are able to say that we play the right way, with a style and a swagger, even though most of the time we come up short.

What we are witnessing currently is not spurs. Its everything that we are not and it is our right to show our displeasure by whatever means we see fit. For me, that is refusing to watch games until the way we play or the manager changes.

The idea that we were 1970 Brazil team until Jose came along is, frankly, just barmy. We were ABJECT in the league (Brighton away anyone?) in the year running up to Poch's sacking. Since then the football has been just as bad but results have significantly improved to the point that we are still in the hunt for 4th.

As for the comments upthread about people boycotting games...is there anything more odious and narcissistic than fans thinking they are somehow the arbiter of what constitutes a "real fan" or not? Sheesh

Give it a chance man, madness this. If you've suffered Sherwood and the 90s like you say then this is glorious in comparison.
