Agree with you on Madders but I think you’ve got it wrong with Son - his tracking back was exceptional all game. The bigger concern was Johnson’s inconsistent tracking back which left Porro very exposed.
I have to say I think Ange disagrees with your assessment. Here was his post-match comment specifically about Johnson:

“I mentioned it to the lads, I know Brennan Johnson didn't score today but I thought that was his best performance for us with the amount of work he did to help out Pedro and help out the team in a defensive capacity and still be a threat going the other way. “

Great result and brilliant to see Sir Sonny on top.form. the way he punched the air after scoring. Hope we can keep this up

Agreed. The step overs for his goal had the West Ham defender all over the place. Good to have him back.

He shoved him so that’s a yellow unfortunately
I think the point is that on the field the ref deemed kicking VDV twice while he was on the deck and palming him off in the face wasnt worthy of a straight red?

That all happened under his nose- no need for var at all

yellow for both ie equal punishment was laughably incompetent

Its not clear, refs have been giving straight reds such as the Fernandez one on Maddison (though overturned)
It's clear to me. It might have been overturned but the ref was clearly certain, he didn't hang about (and var backed him up.)
Any doubt and they throw the yellow up.

Also Son looked a lot sharper and fresher.

Getting that break over the international break clearly did him the world of good.

Same.

Its an absolute dreadful kick off time.

A 5 30pm on a Saturday followed by a 7 30pm every saturday would be class.
Seem to remember complaints from some fans about late KO's at the weekend as they can't get trains home if they have far to travel so not popular with everyone and Starmer wants regulator involved in KO times ,not sure that's ever goimg to happen though.

Just my opinion but I thought Johnson though he played well switched off for the West Ham goal as well as Udogie being poor. Is there some other factor I should take into consideration?

Weekend KO times should be in the early to mid afternoon - convenient for game goers and global audience across most if not all time zones ...$$$

Yeah guys, don't run towards a situation where your teammate is lying on the ground and getting kicked by an opponent.

Outrageous. I should think the club will be appealing that one quite vehemently.
Yeah this is actually ridiculous. The only person that should be strongly punished is Kudus who lost his head.

Even the yellow for Van der Ven for pushing him back was under the circumstances unfair. What is he supposed to do if he's on the floor and an opponent kicks him deliberately twice? Not react at all?

Kudus further charged with behaviour ‘after the sending off offence’. Seeing as he walked off quite normally once shown the red, I assume this relates to hitting out at Sarr. He’s probably looking at a 5 game ban.

Ha.

Let's just call it 4 games and be done with it.
