I know Romero and Udogie had poor second halfs against Brighton, but I think Ange was really disappointed with Bentancur and Maddison - they vanished in that midfield second half, and it was why we were overrun so easily.

Bentancur was dropped today. And he wasnt even on International duty.

Maddison given the opportunity to put it right, and didnt look up for it...Ange then hooked up.

I’m unsure about that. I think Bissouma and Sarr have different qualities that were maybe better suited to West Ham’s physical midfield. It’s horses for courses, rather than anything especially disappointing about Bentancur or Maddison.

Back home from the game, a very satisfying performance, the only shame was we couldn’t put more in.

The only Spammer I feel sorry for is my wife, she took it well sitting with me in the North stand, and I gave her a consoling hug but for the 99% of Spammers you totally deserved that after all of the shit and bitter bile you come out with about us over the years and decades.

Now I’m off for a long awaited look on the Kumb website and I will go right back to the start of the game and enjoy reading all their cockiness and trash talking about us before it all comes to a shuddering halt and takes and altogether different turn. I haven’t read it yet but from some of the references I on heard on here first I’m in for a treat.
I didn't watch the game live but watched "as live" by Reading through our match thread after the had finished. Some embarrassing stuff talked by us in there at the beginning
All turned to roses after of course 😆

Yet the ref deemed all that just a yellow
It’s pretty clear now that refs are being told unless absolutely certain to just show a yellow and let var call for on field review if necessary. We saw it in the Woolwich game also.
It’s pretty easy to say ‘that’s defo a red’ when you’ve just watched it from many angles and slowed down.
The refs see it once, in real time.

They do have different qualities, but Bents and Madders definitely went awol.

Look, its not so much about different qualities when the going gets tough...its about putting in the hard yards and competing in your duals. Something Ange referenced after the game.

Is it possible that Kudos will receive and extended ban, three matches for the straight red of course but He stamped VdV, then kicked him, then pushed him in the face. He went on to shoulder barge Richy and finished the episode off with another push in Sarrs mush, surely thats got to be worth six out at least. Is that how this works?

Tracking back and defending is not his strength mate. Sorry.

He got pulled for a reason - and it was not because he was not creative enough today.
So he's a DM?

I know what his strengths are.

The end of the day to suggest he's not a commited player is still bollocks.

It’s how it should work, but I would be very surprised if it’s more than the straight 3 match ban. As the ref only saw fit to waive a yellow initially, I doubt his report will cover any more.

You are missing the point. He is not committed as a CM - to the tracking back, to the defending, to the running necessary to help the FB, and DM.

Nobody said he was not a "committed player"

We can't afford a CM who is not committed to the defensive aspects of the position - and that was the message Ange sent today.

Unfortunately says a lot about the referee that he did not see any of the misdemeanours

I know we won but can I petition the PL to end the Saturday 12.30 slot once and for all.

It's a hopeless time to play or watch football, and the crowds are always so flat no matter who the home side is.

Give me a Saturday 7.45 or a 12.30 and I'd take the evening game every time.

Same.

Its an absolute dreadful kick off time.

A 5 30pm on a Saturday followed by a 7 30pm every saturday would be class.

You would think that kudos will get more than a 3 game ban after he turned from a philatelist into this guy...

To be honest I don't think any player wearing a Spurs shirt deserves to be called 'shit'.

Then again perhaps as a supporter of the team and club since the early-seventies have become old fashioned.
I've been a fan for a similar length of time and I don't like to say any of our players are shit but Werner makes it very difficult when he messes up basic football skills so regularly. If it upsets the community I will try to refrain. Being fair I liked him last season and thought he was decent for us. This season? Not so much.

I didn’t get up at 5:30 MT to watch it either. Watched the recording on my DVR when I eventually got up. You don’t have a DVR?
Don't have the patience to sit there and watch a match that's already been played these days, the temptation to look up the score is just too great

Smashing g win and response to the debacle last time out. Ange was proactive by dropping Benancur and subbing Maddison - this is important because it shows he's analyzing things between and within games and giving us the best chance to change the dynamic. No life lesson this week wondering why we're allowing the game to slip away.

Good stuff all round and well done Kulusevski again for being that key ingredient centrally.
