We should still have enough to win, just need to get the ball out wide quicker

Been bad, honestly this diamond is just not helping at all. It's making life so easy for Villa. We're not creative enough in the middle and it's too congested, Villa are playing narrow and allowing the ball to go wide to the wing backs and are dealing with them when they have to. They've been caught out a couple of times in doing so but we haven't had the quality to capitalise and they're happy regardless in keeping the more dangerous players in Lucas and Kane heavily marked.

Same old crap 1st half without scoring, so sick of it to be honest, it's ridiculous how often we do.

I would most certainly take off Sissoko for Eriksen and go to a 4-2-3-1.

Just stop with this diamond formation bullshit. It sucks. If you are going to play a diamond formation you need 1) better wingbacks 2) midfielders that make runs into the box. Sissoko, Ndombele and Winks are all too similar and sits too deep.

Fingers crossed it's a result of Poch's limited options. Dele injured, Son suspended, Eriksen's head turned, Lo Celso been at the club for all of a single day. The attack is utterly decimated at the moment, Poch has very few alternatives available.

Sissoko either plays deep or not at all. As an attacking option, he’s redundant.

Still can’t believe Rose’s defending for the goal. Sunday league stuff.

Have to agree. He was marvellous last season but having Ndombele makes him redundant when you're up against a defensively set up team.

I'm sure when Lo Celso gets in and Eriksen sorts his head out he'll be rotated more.

Yeah, you wouldn't know this team has played under the same manager for the last five years. We look a little bit disorganized and confused out there. Credit to Villa... They've been very good, and have been set up realky well by their manager.

As for tge diamond formation.... ?

Not much Poch can do. Eriksen is uninterested, Ndombele is unfit, N'Koudou is shite. If anything Troy Parrott could make a difference. But the players out there should be more than capable of this and need to get their games in gear pronto. coys

There is absolute no doubt that this August thing plays on Kanes mind.

The annoying thing for me is when we play this 4-3-3 formation or diamond we get it so wrong. Our full backs who are pretty shit in the final third are nearly as high as kane and then Sissoko and Ndombele push right out wide into the full backs postion. Which completely nullifies Ndombele ability to dominate the middle of the park and if we lose it we are wide open in the middle. Its so bad tactically.

You look at Liverpool and City, they have a 3 man CM which is lovely and compact. They don't hug the touchlines, they dominate the ball and play some quick passes up to their front 3.

We seem to be so slow and ponderous in our transitions. With our CM completely non compact so offensively and defensively it looks woeful.

Tactically Poch hasn't got this formation right at all.

Bring Eriksen or GKN on for Sissoko and go 4-2-3-1

Just 4-5-1. With the wide players pushing on high.
Then allow Sissoko/GLC and NDombele to go box to box.

Leave Kane high up top

The opposite wide man to play can join Kane
