Bizarrely enough, being down to 10 men (and being a goal up) will help Spurs score more goals in the second half.
We play better and are far more deadly and accurate when on the break.

We perform more poorly when the opposition get 10 men behind the ball. We haven’t properly solved that conundrum yet, consistently.

We have players (and Son has suddenly upped his game another 50% since the sending off) that can destroy any team on the break.
Southampton will have the majority of the possession in the 2nd half (hopefully) and we can pounce and play fluidly when given a quick turnover in possession.

This can work well for us. As long as heads don’t drop and we maintain energy and enthusiasm.
It helps that there will be less people to pass it square too. Will have to be more direct

Decent player but untrustworthy on and off the pitch. Get rid.

A joke that he's still the best option we have at RB. KWP isn't good enough to rely on until Jan.

I guess Aurier has took a bit of stick on here but that second yellow happened right in front of me and Bertrand jumped up in the air and hit the ground, no foul no yellow and no red, they had clearly got the measure of the referee and he knew he could trick him and get our player sent off.

I'm sorry to say this about Hugo. He would have been a great goalie up until 1992, but with the change in pass back rule, and the need to play out from the back, the modern goalie has to have a modicum of outfield skills. Its not Hugo's first blunder like this, way from it. And it unsettles the whole back 4. We've seen Toby kick into touch rather than play a back pass which most goalies could be relied upon to deal with, but not Hugo. At our level we need better.

Honestly a bit tired of people gunning Aurier. He made a mistake and now people are pining for Trippier. You all have very short fucking memories.

In Aurier's defence, he was caught out of position because he, and Winks, stopped assuming the throw in was about to be given.

That might be the case but giving the ref a decision to make is daft.

I take it you’re watching the game? We look like a side with a manager who will get the sack soon.

It’s a gung ho game, relying on individual quality to score goals, no discernible structure to our game. We look open at the back, and the mentality of our players is all wrong which you can see from Lloris and Auriers fuck ups.

Literally you could have Tim Sherwood in the dugout, that’s what this game reminds me of.

Ha I knew it was you Tim! :D

I'm not defending Aurier, because he was terrible. But look at Winks in that situation. First he stops and shout at the assistant referee. After that he turn around, jog slowly and shout at the referee. It's fucking terrible from his side. You play until the game is stopped. It's basic football and soemthing you learn as a kid. Otherwise, he has been good.

I’m at the match so don’t have the benefit of tv replays and I’ve a few questions.

Tell me about Auriers 2 bookings. Both fair? Any mitigating factors?

what happened with Lloris?

Have I missed anything else?

First one fair, crazy unneeded challenge.

Second is a bit soft knowing that you have to send a player off at theb30 min mark. A final warning would be the usual action.

And considering our players are being german suplexed every minute without booking, it's looking harsher all the time

Even if you HATE Sissoko (which is idiotic), you better give him some props quick. He does any dumb thankless thing the gaffer asks, like fill in at RB for a complete fuckhead like Aurier (and probably doing a better job of it). A true club man.

How can VAR check Son last week to rule our goal out for offside by millimetres but doesnt check that the ball has gone out before sending Aurier off.

Still Aurier and Lloris are absolute idiots. Ref is not giving us a sniff so gonna need to dig in. Hope Poch has learned his lesson and doesnt look to Wanyama to tighten things up...
I would a good reason as to why Wanyama is on the bench instead of Skipp, or even a traffic cone.
