Welp, disappointing to lose the 3 points at the end there. We'll need to get 3 points at Rangers to give ourselves a real chance at top 8 IMO. Not exactly feeling confident about going to Hoffenheim and bossing it tbh. Then again that game is almost 2 months in the future and who knows the state of play then.
If Ange manages to get 3 at Ibrox, I will roll over and let ur ticke my tummy. I’ve been to ibrox a lot, we will not have an easy time there.

Football is weird.
Rangers lost 4-1 to Lyon who are 6th in French league but beat Nice 1-4 who are 5th.

Rangers also recently drew with the mighty Dundee 1-1.

We lost to Palace and Ipswich but thrashed Villa, Utd and City…

Our game against Rangers could be any score
Nice are 5th in their league but haven’t won a game in the europa. Must be trying to get champ lge place via their league.

Seems generally accepted here that Roma are a 'poor'. side.

Without reference to their recent form I thought they were outstanding, superb passing and great technique. Wonderful match for the neutral.

Obvs disappointing how it ended, we don't know how to close a match down which is plain stupid imo.
Not really anything we should not have expected though, Italian teams are technically good.

When all said and done, this team really isn't that good a starting eleven and never has been.

I can't understand what Ange is holding our best eleven back for, we are unlikely to make the top four so why not play our best eleven in the EL and get an easier draw in the knock out stages.

So many Spurs managers have taken the EL as a practice competition for the real thing, forgetting this is the real thing.
That was our best team apart from Udogie.

I would take a point at Ibrox right now. They will be more than up for it and the crowd is going to make it more than difficult

But they aren't very good. Like at all. And that's being kind. They were up for it when they played Liverpool a couple of years ago and were hammered 7-1. Unless we play all our kids we should be beating them easily.

Probably not but Liverpool did score 7 there 2 years ago.

If we turn up, like we can do, I can see us scoring a few.

I think it'll be one or the other. A Fulham away performance or a City away performance.

I thought last night's game was good at pointing out our strengths and weaknesses and as such given us a good view of what we need to do in terms of transfer activity in Jan:

ST - Solanke is turning into the player that we expected Richi to be - a solid 20 goal per season striker that can do a lot of good hold-up and link-up play and presses really well. However we don't need two of these players in the squad, and given how injury prone Richi is we need to be looking at selling him ASAP and bringing in a striker who can be more of an on-goal threat than Solanke. Osmihen against us the other week is the type of striker I'm thinking of.

MF - We're clearly missing a PEH type player in midfield - someone we can bring on and who can help us battle and hold onto a lead. It doesn't need to be a big name signing, just the right type of character that can get us over the line in these types of games. It might have to come at the expense of Bergvall sitting out of the European squad.

LB - We need proper cover for Udogie. Whilst it's probably great for Gray's development, he's not going to become a LB in the long term and in the short term it's causing us some issues.

I think these are the priority positions and depending on Vicario's recovery we should also assess if we can sign Forster's long term replacement in Jan rather than waiting until the summer.
Good stuff. I don't think Levy sanctions anything up top till it's clear Richy is going. Next summer.

Similarly we need to use Gray in midfield- whether he fits the immediate need or not.

Competition for UDog is the deal we must do. Negligent not to do it before the last window closed.

Yep. Then Hoffenheim away In Jan. Top 8 is looking quite tough RN. The last game might not matter much.

On my way to work yesterday morning, going up an escalator at Waterloo Underground, and half way up it, there was a Roma sticker in the centre. Utter bastards. Ruin our night of football, and then deface our City. Wankers. Splitters! I mean, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Especially because of the Celtic stuff
I think this is key. I don’t think a lot of English fans here know the hatred rangers have for anyone Celtic, and vice versa. When I was younger I kinda bought into it, but if you know u know. They are two very secreran clubs, not saying they are all bad, far from it. But ur ur walking down a road here in a Celtic or Rangers top ur making a statement.

it’s very different to say Spurs/ Arsenal. Not saying all supporters but there is a significant amount. People here in NI have had beatings for wearing a shirt, some fatal beatings.

No he was misconstrued. 🙄
I think if anything Hoddle could never be misconstrued. His remarks about disabled people were fucking shocking and he should be totally ashamed of them, agian I don’t really hold a grudge, but fuck me he made a true wankwe od himself. He got off lightly IMO. Much worse than telling a girl nice tits.

That's the story of our season. Just highs and lows.
