We started to play when ndombele and lamela came on. If we had a striker, maybe we could have nicked a draw at that point. Up until then, we were so second best. GLC, Ndombele, Lloris, Sanchez and Winks to a degree were good. The rest... Enough said. As for Dele with the scowl. Leave me alone

Jose has to take full responsibility for today, tactics, team selections, and davies just like aurier not up to standard. Subbing Dele when he took the shackles off of the players in that last 20 mins and allowed them to play and not be in that rigid shit that didnt work all game anyway, dele would have thrived in that last 20 mins. Gio, Ndoms and lamela were awesome, Gio the whole game our little Argy Modric. JM tried to park the bus two banks in first 60 mins, restricted players to not playing but keeping shape even when it wasnt working, and hoping for a hit and run job but Dele n Moura too isolated for the long ball hit n run hope tactics.

Was obvious Mourinho's plan was to play very defensively without our best two attackers. Was quite ok soaking up the pressure and without the penalty, RB would not have scored. A 0-0 would have been another master class from Mourinho.

Just couldn't get it why we sat sooooo deep. More pressure on them would have given us opportunity to break. Really depressing to see the lads so slow and unfit to press.

RB shit housing in running down the clock with those cramps and treatments on field for such substantial period of time... Hmm.. I hope karma pays them back.

But we looked better in the last 20 minutes without our two attackign players - why? because the tactics... why not play how we played in the last 20...

One day something is going to click for the opposition and we’re gonna get stung for 4 or 5.

We only got to attack because Leipzig were more than happy with the 1-0 and knew we didnt have the attacking threat. Happy to sit in
Looking forward to the day we hire somebody like Naglesman.

Did anyone else notice how much Lamela and Winks complemented each other when he came on? I mean, Erik came on like a man possessed, but he was playing off of Winks really well every time he got involved.

Yea it’s a hard watch isn’t it but this same style got us a win against wolves and Man City, 20 shots against villa and nearly a point at least against Liverpool. If he can grind us out an fa cup would it not be worth it?
No, the fans want it all - The Dutch playing Total Football while winning all the pots at the same time with this squad in this state.

Hindsight is a great thing but see absolutely no reason to have dropped Tanganga, been fantastic for us only to witness his replacement do as bad a tackle as you’ll see in the box ever, total brain fart. We also barely looked like scoring, hard to get too excited about 2nd leg after witnessing that.
Best guess is just that one had to start today and one against Chelsea. If Davies is run out for his third game in six days on Saturday, then I'll be concerned.

We have the same problem nearly every time we play against a 343. We've had it under Poch and it hasn't changed under Mourinho. There's a clear blueprint on how to play us that we'll likely see a lot more of if other managers are worth their salt. Until we do something about it we aren't going to be successful.

We also need the stop playing Lucas through the middle.

Ndombele? Gedson? Bergwijn? Alderweireld? Winks?

It’s not the players’ fault we got left woefully short in key areas. It’s not their fault Kane, Son, Sissoko are out with long term injuries.

I thought the players gave a reasonable account of themselves today. There were none who I’d say were going through the motions and couldn’t be arsed.

Lucas, Alli, Aurier didn’t have great games but they were trying. Serge especially, he always does, even if he often gets it wrong.

Can’t ask for more than that, in reality.

This is just kneejerk nonsense.

They were bullied and harrassed off the ball repeatedly, unitl the 60th minutes they pretty much lost every 50/50 they took part. Apart from the guys i mentioned who put up an account of themselves i think everyone else lost their personal battles from the 1st minute.

No one was demanding or taking the fight on until Lamela came on, otherwise everyone is looking for someone else to take responsibility.

I might concede Winks deserves a mention, i thought he was solid.

Hanging on for 45 minutes is a pretty bad tactic. Its not a masterclass of tactics when the goalkeeper, post and last ditch tackles are stopping it from being 0-3
Its like when JM makes drastic changes when we're being totally outplayed and is then called a tactical genius for doing so.
Doesn't it mean, rather than him being a tactical genius, that he got it totally fkin wrong to start with?
To be fair this applies to every coach not just JM.
Tonight was a good example.
Bloody joke playing at this level though and only having 1 striker on the books.
Edit. I missed out a defensive midfielder.
We deserve to get thumped.

Davies is a good LB for me regardless. But he's just another timid FB who has no ownership of the role, relying always on Toby to pass the ball forward. Even Sanchez too. I really dislike such weak mentality of being so afraid to build up the possession starting from themselves, consistently leaving that to Toby.

Yeah, we’re really pushing our luck. We’re a bit shit really, but we were in our first 6-8 months with Poch. Investment is badly needed though

We totally lack presence in the middle. I don’t quite get it...we seem unable to control games no matter what side we play against.

Obviously we lack that hold up player up top, but that is not the entire problem.

Horrible watching us give the ball away again and again, doing basic mistakes
