Have to say I'm getting a little irked by Jose's comments on Parrot. Dortmund's front 3 were all under 20 & one was 17 & they still managed to give PSG a game, so we won't know if Parrot has got it unless he's allowed to play in games like this.
Dortmund have always been keen to blood and trust their youth, but you have to remember that Dortmund have for many years been virtually guaranteed top 3 in the Bundesliga and are stable.

We are an utter mess this season (compared to recent years) and are on fragile ground. I am not sure it is the right environment to play Troy in. If he plays a few games and plays poorly because of the pressure and expectation that WILL be there, then that can set him back.

He could be a success, of course, but we do not see what the training staff see during the week, or in test matches. If there is any chance of it going pear shapred then we should show patience. There is a good chance that over the summer and into next year we will have more stability and an identitiy that he can come into. Play Cup games and earn his way into the team.

I don't have the answers, I can only guess, but if Mourinho says he isn't ready, I think he has more knowledge that we can ever have.

I've given up trying to predict

a) results
b) team line up
c) how we're going to play

Everything is a glorious mess at the moment and to be honest, I'm kind of enjoying it.

If Jose doesn't think Parrott is ready then he obviously isn't. He wasn't hesistant at throwing Tanganga in when we needed him.

I imagine he will take a closer look at Parrott in the next few weeks if we fail to get our attacking clicking. But I would imagine he would put Lucas and Dele ahead of Parrott at the minute, shame because we all want to see him but as others have said we don't see him in training everyday.

I think we will get the win tonight, 2-1.

Every time I allow myself to get optimistic about tonight I remember that their biggest threat Timo Werner will be running down the left against Serge Aurier and I break into a cold sweat... :nailbiting:

It is pointless to compare Parrott with the likes of Haaland, Sancho or Mbappé.

Those three would be of interest to any team in the world right now, and not in terms of future potential but first team action immediately. They are world class talents who are playing well beyond their years.

For whatever reason, Parrott is not deemed ready by Jose, just as he wasn't by Poch. The way Mourinho gave him the match ball on his debut against Burnley certainly suggests he isn't going to do anything to stand in Parrott's way. He is valued, he has signed a new contract, but again and again Mourinho has stated he isn't ready.

Tanganga is playing because he is ready and has shown it. It is nothing to do with age.

Perhaps there is more going on behind the scenes, perhaps there are maturity issues off the pitch, but I trust Poch and Mourinho to know more than us.

I'm buzzing for this game, think it's got the makings of a classic under the lights. Expecting the crowd to be well up for this one to get us over the line, goals from both sides and a decent game which we'll edge by one.

Pretty sure Jose would know if he's ready or not, he played Tanganga against Liverpool and Man City and he wasn't phased at all, that tells me he knows how to judge players.

I know we are desperate to see Troy and we're in a pretty desperete situation right now but there's no point risking a player if they're not ready especially mentally, it's kind of selfish of the club to put Parrott in that position just because there's no adequate backup.

So whenever i hear that Lamela is injured im like how the hell did he get injured and when did he get injured - every single time. Im still asking that question on his new injury - where the hell is he? how the hell did he get injured. Always seems inocuous his injuries.

American here and will be heading to my first game at the new stadium tonight. Very pumped and ready for this! Had the pleasure of getting a match in at WHL so excited to see the new one up close. My question for the locals is how would you spend the 2-3 hours prior to the match? Plan to get up there around 5:30. Thanks for your advice.

The amount of times that he is injured I was starting to think that he was a junkie

Head inside the stadium. Bars and food outlets pretty good, also maybe visit the store. Pubs outside the venue are not terrible but you’re better off inside IMO.

Have a slow wander around the stadium. Take it all in. Then go inside and do the same. Try and get to the south stand if you have time. As the bar in there is brilliant. But also gets full very quickly. So get there earlyish. Enjoy.

To be honest, that's a long time to spend there - stadium aside the area is a bit of a dump. I would aim to get there a bit later.

I trust Mourinho judgement of Parrott, I don't think his ready either, in his only start in the league up against Colchester he didn't look ready, lad on just turned 18, give him time

In the midst of all the pessimism after the injury news I'm just going to leave this here.

They should play this video in changing room before the game to remind them that anything is possible

Good, Serge will get the better of him more times than not.

But he can't do it all by himself and is often left doing double duty without sissoko

Thinking about it, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we play Aurier as an auxiliary winger with Tanganga at RB behind him. This frees up Lucas to play up front and Bergwijn to play on the left.

It's not what I would do but think it's likely given previous lineups.
