I take your point. And it’s not that there aren’t elements to enjoy from that.

But play it again five times and we lose several of them if we play like that with 10 men.
You know a tactic that would have us win that game every time with 10 men?

Some of our fans seem to have developed this absurd idea that unless we score five goals and give up zero chances then we aren’t worthy of a win.

Every single team gives up chances. Even the best of them. Of course we’re going to concede chances playing a man down for pretty much the whole game.

Good win from the boys today - three in a row to build some momentum. BJ is silencing the haters, Big Dom is getting up to speed and Gray looks a talent.

Let’s get the three points on Sunday and keep this run going. Up the fucking Spurs!!
I couldn't agree more, it's like some people expect absolute perfection in every game and if they don't get it, they happily point out every negative they can.

There's no way we should have sat back after the red, we'd have lost for sure because we've spent the last year learning to play the way we do.

We played almost 90 minutes with 10 men and yet still stuck to our principles and as Ange said the other day, played in the Tottenham way.

I watched a fun game, a good win and some really impressive performances.
What's not to like?

I'm sure if we'd dropped back after the red card and defended resolutely all night and come away with a no score draw plenty of people would be praising us for a blood and guts display with ten men yet seem to be unhappy with our performance when we attacked and won 3-0!
It baffles me

I'm not trying to be difficult - but when we got a goal ahead, playing in a slightly less cavalier manner would have been more sensible IMO.

And before someone says "oh well, why don't we just park the bus like Arteta then, FML, are you really a Spurs fan?", I'm not suggesting we go super defensively, but we left ourselves unbelievably open for an incredible amount of the game.

A slight readjustment to just marginally reduce their attacking threat, while still being able to hit them on the break would have been smarter IMO. I'm just not sure Ange is at all open to the idea

Spare a thought for those Spurs haters around the world who got the popcorn out after 7 minutes and were laughing their tits off when Draguback was red carded.

We got away with it big time.

Stupid sending off and as Ange said frustrating start but then it was a real mixed bag.

I liked the tactics, we were brave and a constant threat but there is a huge difference between being attacking and stupid at times.
Some of the passing around our box was suicidal, the midfield especially continuously put us under pressure. For every excellent thing Archie Gray did and there was a lot he also was really careless on the ball at times, Sarr-goal aside was pretty bad and don’t get me started on bissiouma . There was a passage of play in the centre of the park where someone went towards the ball and it went passed them by about 20 feet. So our player (I can’t remember who sorry) had to turn and chase with theirs. Bissouma was behind him. Watching with the ready to pounce start but there was no pouncing, he just watched them challenge for a ball that was closer to him. A very small maybe very picky example of a lack of footballing instincts, especially as a dm. His passing last night was ridiculously careless too.

A great result and I’m happy we got the win but I thought it was Unprofessional at times.

Onwards and upwards.

And this is a good reminder that the odd emoji here and there will help the good folk of SC to understand that you're not being serious.

Unless you actually were being serious?! 😬🤣
I thought the inclusion of Richarlison would be just enough to give it away, alas…

Dragusin first name on the team sheet for Ferencvaros you’d think?

We are not a well-drilled team defensively. If this lot had dropped back, we would have lost that game. We played well, defended well, and when they got through, Vic did his job.

We need to know & be organised if we need to drop back. It has to come from training ground. Its a process...but it has to start somewhere ? It needs to come from boss. If there is no will to do it, then ofcourse team wont do it on pitch.

We can get by some of these games. Its not rocket science why we struggle in PL. Asking VDV do keep making those sprints, his hamstring isnt going to last the season IMO.

I know, everyone wants us to be happy after a win etc etc... I am just realistic - another day, Qarabag atleast score 2 by 60minutes and its a different outcome.

One thing is sure, you have our previous European game down to 10 men and a goal down so we bring on a defender. This one we go down to 10 men go a goal up shortly after and keep attacking to win by 3. I'm happy with what we do now.

Any chance Radu’s red gets rescinded, because judging by that performance that was in no way a goal scoring opportunity

Mad isn’t it.

Yes we made too many mistakes giving the ball away cheaply but we had to play almost the entire match with 10 men, it’s bound to leave the players fatigued and making errors.

I will say again this talk of them missing chance after chance is being overplayed and the statistics prove it.

Without their nonsense penalty which was worth 0.76xG, they only managed 1.46 to our 1.5xG. We created more than them with 10 men from a statistical pov without the penalty.

I didn't mind us staying as we were last night, the difference between the teams was huge and yes, a better team would have punished us, but we weren't up against that so I think it was a risk worth taking and the result proves that.

Doing the same in league games is a different story of course, and that is where I'd criticise Ange for it, but not for last night.

Yeah fair enough. It's a tricky one. Thought the balance was right for the first half, second half got a bit loose.

Having just sent off one of the home team players, was amazed the ref allowed them to get away with numerous fouls without showing a yellow card. I know I watch the games with white tinted glasses but he seemed to favour them far more than us in a number of 50/50 challenges.

We basically played the entire game with 10 men and won 3-0, we scored 3 goals with 10 men.
We should see that for what it is, that is a superb achievement and nothing else matters.
Actually it's a pretty glorious achievement.
Yep. And in my opinion, I felt the ref was right ropey. Had an awful game in terms of consistency. Qarabag should have zero complaints. They got us down to ten players before ten minutes and the ref was very easy on them. If I’m their fans, and watched objectively, I’d feel embarassed that they lost by 3 given all of the advantages they had , in particular with a ref who was very easy on them.

One small example, Dragu being sent off was fine. Though I still feel it was a smidge harsh. But their player obviously initiated contact, went down, sat up and mad a ‘give him a card’ gesture. Isn’t that a yellow card offence?
