Considering it took 3hrs 20 mins to do 60 miles to get there, was quite glad kick off was delayed. Thought we looked good, stupid mistake by Drag but we always looked like we would score..they made some errors but hey ho

We laboured thru a game, down to ten men, make your own excuses. They played very well, opposition a yard off the pace, job done. A good run out for many, Biss was productive, papa done well, never a doubt in the result.
United on Sunday a testing game. Good run out, Ange adapting to different style. End of the day, we won, opposition were poor..
I don't think the opposition were poor. I think in the first half we played a very smart and restrained game to keep our energy and keep them at arms length. It looked to me that after the red card and the goal the tactic was to not exert too much energy. Then in the second half we increased the pressure and got a second.
That wasn't because they were poor it's because we were smart

People moaning about winning 3-0 in Europe with 10 men? Yeah we gave up some chances no shit. Yeah there were some sloppy moments but you’re a man light which reduces your options on the ball. Also the officiating was awful

Thought we were totally in control, and could and should’ve scored a couple more. Vicario was brilliant, loved seeing him get the armband. Gray, Micky, Biss were excellent. Udogie was great when he came on and Dom ran himself into the ground

Some of our fans seem to have developed this absurd idea that unless we score five goals and give up zero chances then we aren’t worthy of a win.

Every single team gives up chances. Even the best of them. Of course we’re going to concede chances playing a man down for pretty much the whole game.

Good win from the boys today - three in a row to build some momentum. BJ is silencing the haters, Big Dom is getting up to speed and Gray looks a talent.

Let’s get the three points on Sunday and keep this run going. Up the fucking Spurs!!

What a fun game to be at, despite the looong journey to get there with all the traffic issues. We saw almost everything- sending off, open goal miss, penalty miss, clean sheet, Johnson and Solanke reprising their Saturday goals, disallowed goal, fantastic saves from Vic. Lovely stuff. Two games in two something mad happens inside 10 mins and we just carry on like it didn't. You've got to love the attitude Ange is instilling in this group. Poor from Radu to foul the guy who still had lots to do and his actions not only took valuable game time from himself but poor Lucas Bergvall lost minutes too. Joint second after one matchday is very nice indeed. COYS!

Didn’t get to watch the game till 6 hours after it finished and haven’t read the thread yet so missed the meltdown over the Red card incident.
Here’s my 2 cents worth:
Yes Radu is at fault for a bad touch and then losing the ball followed by a rash tackle but it all came about from a free kick. We get a free kick on the edge of their final third for a foul in Solanke and what do we do? Something positive like a forward pass let alone something radical like putting the ball in their box and putting their defense under pressure? No!! We passed it backwards and 2, backward passes later it with our last defender, Radu, on the edge of our final third and the rest is history. But why did we do that?
See this is my bugbear with this almost pathological obsession with possession, with keeping the ball at all costs. It makes players lazy, cowardly and unadventurous. Players with the ball when faced with any obstruction to their forward movement take the easy way out and pass the ball backwards. They don’t attempt to take the man on, they don’t try to thread a forward pass - players in front of them know this so they don’t work hard to give an option - no what they do is pass the responsibility on to someone else and pass the ball backwards. It’s lazy football and it’s f*****g boring football.
We almost gave up another red card or goal just before HT with a back pass to Davies as last man.
I’m not laying the blame for this on Ange because this obsession with possession has infected football for quite a while now. Week after week, game after game I watch teams give away stupid goals because of this lunacy. Goals from blind back passes to the GK, goals from the GK and defenders playing Macho football and insisting on playing out from the back despite the fact that all their players are closely marked. Already this season I can think of around a dozen goals given away because of this stupidity.
I’ve nothing against my team having possession but I want us to do something positive with it and I don’t want us playing kamikaze football in our defensive third.

Three goals and a clean sheet playing with 10 men for 80+ minutes against a seasoned European completion team is a fantastic result which will do their confidence the world of good. Nevertheless we ride our luck. They missed an open goal and a penalty and fluffed their lines in front of goal a few other times. Although we defended well at times other times we were incredibly sloppy and it’s something that’s becoming a bit of a habit that will cost us against better sides.
Lots of good performances. Vicario was excellent except for his habit of rushing to get rid of the ball. With the team down to 10 men holding a slim lead why would you want to rush to get the ball in play again?
Gray was excellent at RB in his first 90 minutes, in Europe as well.
Solanke’s work rate was impressive. Good to have a good hard working CF in the team.
I thought Sarr should have come off instead of Bergvall but he was excellent working all over the pitch and topping it off with a well taken goal.
Hopefully they can use the confidence this result will have given them to good effect on Sunday at OT.

Best way to describe the game is one where there are lots of positives to take away (Gray, Solanke and Vicario in particular and some really nice passages of play) but also one where we massively rode our luck and the scoreline definitely does not reflect what actually happened on the day.

Spare a thought for Qarabag. 6 hour flight, stuck in traffic so short warm-up and preparations all screwed up, playing a big game that you were expecting to lose but amazingly find yourself against 10 men for almost the entire game, only to miss chance after chance including a penalty and a disallowed goal while the opposition who have been criticised all season for being wasteful are suddenly extremely clinical and pick you off 3-0.

That's the kind of shit that normally only happens to Tottenham

Won 3-0 despite being down to 10 men. Solanke is looking better and better, Johnson is growing in confidence, Gray looked great on the ball, Sarr's beat game for us in ages and Vicario much improved in coming out and commanding his area.

Yes the passing was sloppy at times, we saw some of the best and worst of us through the match. But most teams don't win playing a man down that long and in the end we smashed them. Helped by their missed chances, but nice for us to be the more clinical team for once.

We basically played the entire game with 10 men and won 3-0, we scored 3 goals with 10 men.
We should see that for what it is, that is a superb achievement and nothing else matters.
Actually it's a pretty glorious achievement.

Great game, we are so good when we have space to play.

First time in Spurs shirt I've seen Gray's quality .Destiny getting there too
Qarabag were a delight to watch, such ease on the ball..superb long diagonal passes.Cut our defence open with beautiful play . Brings up my regular grumble at transfer time... Are we sure there are no great players available in tiny leagues ?? commentator said something about most valuable player over there was 3 mill ! I don't expect a single glance was made in their league's direction by our scouts.

Anyway, with room our players look much better. Wonder how Utd will play. Ten Haag capable of putting up an effective low block do we think ? Not sure. Sun could be a good day for us otherwise.

Any sane fan realises that going down to 10 men after 7 mins makes it incredibly hard to win the game no matter who you’re facing. We’ve beaten Luton this way and now Qarabag. No guarantee going prime Diego Simeone would have made it any easier and I doubt we would have got a better result.
I said sometimes - not the whole game. The very least we should do with 10 men is not defend from half line when they have possession. Fact is, Qarabag finishing was so bad otherwise , they would have been in lead or in the game

“Vicario was brilliant” - correct
“We were in total control” - not really though ….because they kept on missing chances & Vicario kept on saving them.

Don’t paint this as some invincible win. Juninho taps home, they take the lead and it’s a different game.

Just be happy, that opposition missed their opportunity to punish us .

We did quite well offensively taking our chances. Likes of Solanke , Gray, Vicario were really good. Nice confidence booster. That’s about it

Has to be one of the funniest games I have ever seen. It was Laurel and Hardy meets the Keystone Cops. We made mistake after mistake with poor decisions and abysmal passing, unless backwards. Karabag for all their greater flair were abysmal in our penalty area. Couldn’t punch their way out of the proverbial.

I did feel sorry for them in the end wanting them to score at least a goal. To be honest a decent EPL team would have had 5 or 6 easy goals.

Still we won as it’s not our fault the opposition were more inept than us.

I think this will really kick off our season, as opposed to last season's chelsea at home catastrophy. Similar conditions, different outcome.

Don't underestimate the boost morale effect, way better than cruising 2-0 with 11 on the pitch and crowd moaning about boring match.

We are not a well-drilled team defensively. If this lot had dropped back, we would have lost that game. We played well, defended well, and when they got through, Vic did his job.

Great win and lovely to keep a clean sheet. But a better set of finishers would have put those chances away.

Take the win, clean sheet and move on.
