I’ll tell you for why - Villa will be as keen as mustard, they’re already seriously pissed off at having the game moved and will have to bust a gut to get Champions League and let’s not forget the small matter that Matty Cash won’t need anymore encouragement steaming in to our players and after what I saw Mings do in the highlights yesterday and McGinn can be a nasty so and so in the tackle too, we want to at least give ourselves a chance of having most of our first 11 ready for the final.
What is our first 11 because whatever 11 is picked is absolute shite and has been proven all season..

The Europa league is a smokescreen which we all been hypothesized with. Let’s be honest, other than Frankfurt the rest has been pure gash.

Vicario
Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie.
Bentancur, Madison, Bisouma or Bergval
Kulusevski or Johnson, Solanke, Son.
That's basically it but don't think that side has played together this season.
I don't agree the Europa league is a smokescreen I believe it's the competition in which we've played as close as we can to that side which is why, including Frankfurt, we've been better.
Both legs gainst Frankfurt and in both legs against Bodo we were comfortably better.

It was a bit like After the Lord Mayor's show.
All the excitement of Thursday and now just waiting for the final.
You forget we have the excitement of Villa away first. That's going to be a winner for sure.

And they're going to really hate us for fucking up their big final home game of the year. We might as well not bother going up there

I get that you're pissed at the result and the league situation but our first 11 is not gash. Our first 11, when match fit, are easily a top 5 premier league side and capable of getting to finals of competitions.

What you should be worried about is how poor our second 11 is or at least how unbalanced the squad is. Because the second 11 is relegation material.

I've been Ange in for a while and I understand that he's sacked off the league to prove we can win a cup. But my concern is why do we have a first team that is so brittle we can't play them twice a week and rotate them in and out sparingly?

Ange has implied that the two (league and cup) forms are connected. Why is it that we've had to sacrifice one to have the other? Why couldn't we try to compete in all competitions with strong team?

I disagree I think the squad is unbalanced and mid table at the moment.
The good players are either too young, injury prone or past it and I feel we lack intelligence and physicality in key areas.

I don't even think we have the players to play in a more pragmatic way, Ange has brought in players to play his way and has come unstuck.

We folded like a deck chair v Galatasary and lucky v Roma. The standard of opposition in this seasons Europa league is shite and this can be illustrated by the two teams competing in the final.

Absolutely dreadful today.

I'm finding it hard to look forward to the final in any way or don't feel any buzz. (As bad as that may sound).

Was this strictly down to the manager only though? I watched this and we just literally got cut open like a knife through butter so easily. The positioning was all over the place, the passing out from the back is some of the worse I have ever seen, and the lack of wanting to try and no passion shows a completely different vibe to what I saw on Thursday. If Ange has them coached the same way as Thursday but the players are not upto par in performing the same way than surely this has to come down mainly to the players?

Let’s be real with VDV and Romero at the back we are not going to get cut open or exposed the way we did against palace.

How exciting is pre season going to be with a new manager and a whole new world of opportunities and optimism abound. Just 2 weeks to go!

With that team? No nothing like it.
You can't say whatever team we pick is gash except for Frankfurt when Frankfurt is almost the only example of our best team along with Bodo.
I'm sorry but that just doesn't work.

Negligent ownership prioritizing profit over football is the root issue. Arsenal’s signings in the past five years—Merino, Rice, Havertz, Sterling, Calafiori, Raya, Timber, Odegaard—show ambition, bringing in proven winners from top clubs. Meanwhile, we’re bargain-hunting for unproven talents like Bergvall, Danso, Solanke, Odobert, Gray, Johnson, Werner, Solomon, and Richarlison, who rarely attract elite interest. Our only high-caliber signings—Kulusevski, Bentancur, Romero, and Van de Ven (who turned out elite)—pale in comparison to the consistent quality of other top-five clubs. This gap starts at the top.

This is why Romero wants out!

I don’t see many other managers doing that much better, especially when fielding the B team.

We didn't fuck it up, the Premier league did by allowing United to play on Friday whilst trying to force us to play on Sunday.
What the hell were they thinking?

Both played in the defeat to Palace earlier in the season where we conceded 14 shots at goal....
