Brilliant result. The stress test is on, and even a bit of a mind fuck for the others that we seem to power through frustration to find a winner late in games.

Now Liverpool can look down with exasperation that we're close. Arsenal can look up with desperation that were so far ahead. And City can look sideways at our inspiration and wonder why they can be the 'spursy' ones against the Geordies.

I'm really looking forward to a re-energized, well-rested Kane getting back on the pitch. Title challenging boost?

Why not, Alli to come back too. A few players have been out recently that have had time off too. If we can not drop any points over Liverpool and Man City in Feb then we could be a really good position.

Winks has stepped up and to be perfectly honest is deserving of being first choice CM next season. We need depth in CM (if we ever sign again) but I don’t want anyone hindering his progress. He’s getting better and better and has so much potential. As great as Sissoko has been I’d be interested to see how Winks performs in the future alongside a Fernandinho type DM.

Solid performance today against a solid and well organised Newcastle side. Bit frustrating in the final third ( but we say that often), but it was solid and professional.

Sanchez was fantastic today, a real big test against Rondon and he dominated him. Winks, Sissoko, and Lamela played there part too.

Very very happy with Winks and Sissoko as our midfield pairing at the moment! The thought of Poch weaning Dier back into the team makes my stomach go funny.

The way Burnley were getting praised after the game at Wembley really pissed me off. Loads of people saying they were unlucky. You can't be unlucky to have lost if your sole objective was not to concede and you were unsuccessful in that endeavour.

Brace yourself for the 'unlucky Newcastle' reports?

Usually don't, but decided to check this thread out at halftime.

The absolute shite some people chat is embarrassing.

Great win against a team who parked a fleet of buses. Hate this anti-football though will give them an excuse as they have Ashley to put up with
