What is good game management?

Well it can’t be conceding free kicks and gradually retreating against the hoof to Carroll.

Only themselves to blame.

one goal isnever enough has been around longer than this stupid rule or var for good reason

Always the same people on this site...

Well why should they apologise
The Kane goal was correctly ruled out for Lucas handball last season per the laws
And the penalty was correctly awarded today per the laws.

Fucking hell, it is banging heads territory in here.
Have you listened to yourself?

If it weren’t against the rules, I’d be saying the posts you’ve been making since full time are some of the most extraordinarily moronic ramblings that only a complete imbecile could make.

Given that is is against the rules to say those things, I won’t.

They did apologise when Kane was denied a penalty against Bournemouth.

Fucking hell, it is banging heads territory in here. Learn the FUCKING laws.
IFAB should apologise for fucking up the rules of the game we love.

When did I say anything was our fault? You are intentionally misinterpreting me and I'm not sure why.
I can only speak to what I see of your posts, bud.

The rule is crazy but we were turgid in that second half and should’ve easily won this game against a very very poor Newcastle team.
The entire phraseology of that sentence looks to cast blame on us. If that's not your meaning, then I can only apologise. However, it's not a misrepresentation...

Totally agree. I've always suspected that there was some form of corruption going on, but after today I'm absolutely convinced there is now.

The Italian league and Juventus in the Noughties is the perfect example.

We are in a pandemic, many organisations are losing money, the best solution is to make sure your biggest audiences are watching. However, this problem for Spurs has been occurring for many years. Still fuming about the Sissoko handball in the final. We don't get the rub of the green on a consistent basis like Man u, Pool, Chelsea and Arse do. Very rarely get anything against those teams either.

Even on there they use an image of Tottenham (Dier) making afoul...

Except for the above offences, it is not an offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm:
  • directly from the head or body (including the foot) of another player who is close
No idea what they class as close. That's the only part that could stop it being a pen. Apart from an offside

However that is irrelevant, because the offence Dier committed is in the top piece. The except for the above offences is only if the arm is within the bodyline which it wan't.

We did give away a few free kicks, though some of them weren't free kicks, but we still making chances and controlling the game. We should have scored another one for sure.

Game management is not about scoring more though, game management is to slow the game down, or speed it up when you need, to dictate the game in your own terms and all these tricks. We did manage the game well in what is typically known as 'game managment'. The penalty was pure luck.

So what do we do, or what can be done?
All well and good me, and us getting high blood pressures, and having the day completely ruined, people in FA are going about there days fine.

How does Mourinho, and co. address a. The crappy decisions, and b. Change how officials are towards us and lesser teams against the so called big 4?

Does it take Levy raising and dealing with it somehow? Make a stance that we do not want today’s ref referring us again for the season?

I don’t know, but unless somethings done outside of forums and we start to look after our own from the powers above, nothing is going to change.

It wasn’t a free kick.

Their goalkeeper played a blinder.

Those things Jose’s fault?

Don't mate, he's basically the equivalent of a referee scientologist at this point, will defend them to the hilt.
He can still defend the on pitch referees and blame IFAB for all this. That's what I do (up to a point because the free kick against us pre-handball is an awful decision).

Because common sense can be fucking applied you robot, honestly do they brain wash you at ref camp?

Common sense cannot be applied when the law is black and white.
The referees did not write the law (in fact I would guess the vast majority don't like it), but it their job to apply it, and unfortuantely for us they 100% applied it correctly in awarding the penalty.

Refs shouldn't just hide behind a rule book, they have a brain and can apply common sense.

This week will be decisive for Mourinho's reign at the club. In the end, the result is all that matters, and after three fairly straightforward matches, Spurs only have 4 points. With Son injured, the Chelsea and United matches will become much more difficult. The Thursday game is more important than the cup match. This season is entirely about winning the Europa League, as finishing top 4, even if the squad is easily good enough, is going to be a challenge, as we will not see the best players together until January or later.

I agree here. Feels like Europa is very important.

Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt!!!
The whole problem is that the refs are shit.

VAR is not the problem, it's just highlighted how shit the refs are.

Yes agree-
It allows the refs to make a decision when normally the situation has passed(corrupt). The same hand ball (both same players) was ruled 'no penalty' just minutes before. What changed? Why did the ref need to look at the monitor? VAR was saying inconclusive-the ref called it.He would never have made that same judgement against the bigger clubs. I don't believe the ref is corrupt-just got it wrong but it could be used to give a result to certain teams.

Like I give a damn what you or anyone else on here thinks. Season ticket holder for almost 20 years so I'll trust my opinion over 99% of the posters on this site.

Lol. I stood/sat next to some people in the East Lower in the old ground that would have called a dog a cat and between them had 4 teeth and one ballbag. The length of your season ticket vs an opinion is completely irrelevant.

If you hate the site and it's forum members then close the door on your way out.

The key word there is 'except for the above offences', so closeness is irrelevant because Dier's hand was above his shoulder.
