Well, we're just going to have to start kicking balls into the back of opponent's arms/hands from now on. May as well start doing so excessively to prove the point. Should get 3 or 4 penalties per game.

But no need to do away with VAR, just refine the handball rule
I'd do away with both.

The problem is that handball will always be a subjective decision. This can't be fixed unless its reversed, you can make some adjustment, like intent and if it prevents a goal scoring chance or something, but it's very difficult to make clear decisions with VAR on this. It's all part of this trend of trying to be 'objective' in football officiating, which is impossible and not beneficial to the sport. I want the laws to be applied as consistently as possible, not for an objective checklist of what makes a foul, what makes a handball or an offside.

I don't care if decisions are always right, and I think refs without VAR do a pretty god darn job all considered. But we will put it this way, I don't tend to celebrate goals anymore. Or even enjoy games as much. I've never been pro-video technology but I was initially willing to give it a go. But it has made the game less enjoyable for me, it's as simple as that.

They didn’t even check the nbombele one. Was stopping a cross reaching Kane and without contact of hand it reaches him. Rule is a farce and not even consistent.

how can you blame the broadcaster. That’s weird.

Not really as (a) I do not want to pay though the teeth to watch a shit sport (and the new rules have made it really shit), and (b) the money ends up with the PL / UEFA / FIFA. They have finally killed the golden goose.

Honestly Jose should just openly say that he's going to instruct his players to kick the ball at peoples arms next game rather than trying to score goals. Take this fucking bullshit to the extreme until the FA has to change.

He won't openly say it but you can bet your life he's gonna tell the players to do it.

The thing that makes it worse is that the play started from a goal kick which Hojberg was under and got utterly shoved over without getting a foul, then later the ref gives a shit free kick where the player dives into Docherty. Then obviously the refs decision I don't need to say more about.

AND BY THEIR FUCKING RULE WE SHOULD HAVE HAD TWO PENALTIES. ****S

I’m still fucking shaking with anger.

Fucking shame as that’s the best we played for a long time. Always going to walk a tightrope not scoring a second but with travelling 5000 miles in a week with three matches that can happen. We played some great stuff today. Players and fans deserve more than fucking shit show at the end.

Hoijbeg mom for me today. Bit worried after Everton but thought he was exemplary in breaking up play and directing the game vocally.

Just makes you wonder the point of supporting a football team right now. The success of our entire season might come down to those 2 points, and nobody will comment of give a shit.

It's annoying because I want to be excited about Bale and other potential signings but shit like this makes me hate the sport.

Was Carroll off? Was it handball? I don’t care. I’m sick and tired of results being determined by technicalities and not by skill.

I don’t really buy into some people’s narrative that it’s our own fault for not getting a second. We won the game 1-0, were in total control and were robbed by the stupidity of a ridiculous rule. It’s a cliche to say we were robbed but we actually were there.

Seriously, anyone that blames that result, on anything other than a shit law of the game and how it's interpreted is quite frankly a moron of the highest calibre.

Second game in a row ref gives questionable pen against us, I'd like to see us abusing this bullshit rules and deliberatly flick the ball onto defenders hands. Alli and Coco are perfect for this.

Fucking fuck.
