Who knows how badly Dele's thrown his toys out the pram, but I can understand him being livid with being dropped whilst the likes of Davies, Winks, Dier have been putting in trash performances for months and get picked every week.

Not too fond of our line up TBH.. So surprised at Mourinho persistent of starting some players who really are mediocre at best.

When you see the 4-3-3 graphic and you think that could include Skrirnier reguilon Ndombele Bale instead of Dier Winks davies Lucas then it looks very very impressive

I think it's clear by now that Mourinho favours those players that put the effort in, rather than those who put the best performances in. If this is how he wants to build the team and squad then I'm behind him.

You can see where all the comments about our squad being too large are. Not on the bench today are:

Gazzaniga
Aurier
Foyth
Tanganga
Sessegnon
Gedson
Dele
Bale

And that’s not including the CH and ST to come, or any youth players.

Add CCV to that list, too..

Our benches continue to look stronger and stronger, and yet Winks and Dier still start.

Shows that there really is still a lot of work to do on this squad. The painful rebuild is only just starting, I feel.

On the plus side, that’s a seriously weak Newcastle XI. They’ve got a lot of key players missing.

We are definitely looking to off load Dele then, unless he's injured.

You would have him on the bench at least.

Guess we’ll find out soon whether he’d injured, but I suspect we need the sale to fund the other purchase is my view. Just don’t believe the “ we’re really going for it” thing. We always look to balance the books and until I see actual evidence to the contrary I’ll hold that view.

Mourinho obviously thinks there's a player in Winks. His current form ain't great, but I really don't want to write him off yet.

Jose has eight home wins on the trot against Newcastle, his longest home win record.

Oh fuck?

Winks is completely redundant in this team.
Might as well swap him for Toby and give the team some much needed width with proper wingbacks.
against teams that sit this formation is horrible.
Hopefully Reg is fit to go soon. And then we have genuine attacking options for wing back. (Toby can stay on the bench and make Davies the 3rd CB if Jose wants to keep Davies starting)
3-4-3 in possession
Bake in for Moura to play up top or in the ‘10’
I agree in principal, but it's not just a matter of getting Reguilon fit. He is still developing, and fans must let him do that. He isn't an automatic for the starting line up yet.

I think we'll win this match, but at what point do you look at the performances of certain players and realize you can't start them in the all-important league matches? These stats below represent a pretty large sample size:

Lucas Moura: 0 goals in his last 22 league matches (almost all starts).

Harry Winks: 0 goals and 0 assists since January 2019.

Ben Davies: 0 goals and 0 assists since April 2018.

Mourinho hopefully can get away with it today, but starting with the United match, he can't keep playing the above three players. There's too much pressure on Lo Celso to be the creative force in this first XI.
