Harsh rule but correctly applied.

The game should've been killed off long before then. We were walking a tightrope as long as it remained 1-0. We can fu@king bitch and moan all we want but it doesn't change anything. Couldn't convert our chances. Couldn't deal with Carroll when he came on.

And Dier is still a complete and utter waste of fu@king space. Offers absolutely zero. Missed an open header. Can't pass, can't tackle, has the mobility of a London bus. A liability. Every opponent will clearly target him. Useless.
This is the worst post in the history of Spurs Community.

The biggest joke of all is acting like this little line they are drawing to determine if it's onside/offside at an angle is actually accurate. Unless there's a sensor on the ball that detects when the ball is struck, there is margins of error with determining when the ball is hit/someone is onside. It's all just a huge joke.

That and the frame rate on the images is so appalling the ball can travel a good six inches and more between one frame and the next rendering it pretty damned impossible to give an accurate call on these forced perspective images they use.

The fucking freekick prior to it was a travesty, fucking fuck anybody who claims the ref is following the rules and not his fault, he's a fucking moron.

What a joke. They have ruined the sport.

It’s definitely not on Dier today but that was the 2nd close call with him today. Plus, its getting to a point with him that you can always count on a few of these close calls every game. He’s a bit of a disaster at the back.

Baffled.

I was annoyed about the bullshit penalty last week, but obviously the result eased the frustration.

This one. FFS. Another day we win 8-0 but they did nothing to deserve a point.

It stinks. Just feel very, very down after that.

The only thing I'd say had we kept Son on we would probably of got more goals.

Doesn't change the fact that was a complete miscarriage of justice.

Worst part is that I can remember at least 3 occasions where Newcastle players looked to have handballed it and play continued.
That's why I'm convinced there is some level of corruption going on. None of these were reviewed.

Yes some had their arms down but others didn't.

The Arsenal was way worse than Die

Totally agree. Watch any Manchester United or Liverpool match and every slight possibility of a penalty the match will be stopped and countless VAR replays to try to justify giving them a penalty.
The refs have always been biased to the biggest clubs VAR just makes it more obvious

This is one of those games where we concede in injury time.

Seriously, anyone that blames that result, on anything other than a shit law of the game and how it's interpreted is quite frankly a moron of the highest calibre.

Agree. But at the same time Jose will have to realise that he cannot plan on defending a 1-0 lead anymore, however well he drills his defence. You need to go two or three goals up when you are on top.

And the powers that be at the PL are totally silent on this whole handball controversy. It would be nice if they stepped up and said they were looking into it.

Just seen this on the BBC

Just in case, you were here and wondering what all this handball fuss is about, this precis of the laws of the game was initially posted in yesterday's Premier League live:

  • Hand/arm is clearly away from the body and outside the "body line" .
  • Player clearly leans into the path of the ball.
  • Ball travels some distance.
  • Ball touches hand/arm that is clearly raised above the shoulder.
  • Player falls and the hand/arm is extended laterally or vertically away from the body.
  • Deflection clearly makes no difference to the ball touching a hand/arm that is clearly extended away from the body and/or above the shoulder
  • You were born with two arms
(Ok, I might have added the last point)

Have to be ruthless when you are on top we messed about and did not kill the game.. Only ourselves to blame kinda typical of Spurs and to be honest I expected it..
We had dominated the game, created more chances and scored the only goal. There was no messing about - we kept the opposition under constant pressure and didn't allow them to create any chances.

Why should we have to score an extra 1 or 2 goals to get the result we deserve, just in case we get screwed over by a ridiculous rule that is repeatedly bringing the game into disrepute?

If we'd made a defensive error that led to the injury time equaliser, your comment of "only ourselves to blame" would be valid. However, in this case there was not a single defensive error leading to a chance for Newcastle.
