Don’t worry about carving out chances now, may as well just do a dummy and flick ball directly up into opposition arm each time near box. Five pens a game, easy.

Livid beyond livid can be. Yes we should have won the game by a large margin already and this shouldn't have mattered in the context of the game (like the Southampton one last week). But this is still ridiculous, two weeks in a row now. Going by their silly faffiness of offside calls recently, that was offside surely to start with. But to then give the pen, goodness. It may be a pen by the definition of the rules, but as many have said, just kick the ball at a player's hands and win a pen, you will get more positive outcome doing that than you will shooting or passing most of the time. What are defenders supposed to do, stand there like statues and not use their arms to move at all? It feels like maybe the rule was brought in with good intent (perhaps), for clarity's sake to take away inconsistency - it hits your hand its a pen, no ifs no buts ... but that obviously results in utter bullshit like this and needs to change. Goodness me.

Dier was pushed in the back by Lacelles, how were his arms not going out? Why when VAR look at the replay don’t they see that?

I believe both are true. We should have finished the game off but the penalty was a joke.

I agree we could've eliminated the risk but it shouldn't be our responsibility to protect ourselves against ridiculous decisions. Very frustrating we didn't do more but I can't blame the team

They do, but with so many chances we should have been further ahead on this occasion. There's also no excuse for not fighting to the death. You can't change the rules, you can change your attitude
How could they fight to the death, they had to stand around for four minutes waiting for a dumb decision. Spurs were screwed over by var and the ref and nothing else because that is what changed the scoreline.

I’m absolutely gutted, both with the missed chances and the penalty decision, but if anyone wasn’t watching the game and expecting that kick in the teeth, given how dominant we’d been, then I suggest you’ve not been a Spurs fan very long! ?

Something needs to be done about this team too because we should've been out of fucking sight by halftime, let alone the 90th minute. Keeper was good but they were good saves, not great ones. Better finishing buries them.
You're right, we should have scored a several goals but we didn't. That can happen. Last week we scored five away, I wouldn't beat the team up too much over this, yes it's frustrating that we didn't kill the game off but in this instance I feel there's a bigger issue to complain about.

I'm not blaming VAR, or even the officials to some extent. It's the new law that has been introduced where intent doesn't matter anymore. If your arm is out while in the air the reason doesn't matter (in this case Dier was fouled and had no idea where the ball was). Joke.

For everyone saying we got what we deserved for not killing the game, you really don’t get it.

No one deserves that kind of decision.
Fucking simpletons that are thinking that. It worries me how submissive some of our fans are and eager to blame us even when it's not our fault.

We were down right cheated out of the win today, no argument.

I’ve not seen anyone say that. We didn’t deserve to lose, but we obviously needed an insurance policy of a 2nd to protect against the risk of a bad decision. They are always possible (and with the shit handball rule, probable).
