My feeling about this game and the end of this season

I dunno if I have enough left in me to keep on doing this to myself.

I think this game will set the tone for the rest of the season. On paper it is our hardest fixture. I know we have Arsenal, Leicester and West Ham at home, and Sheff U away to come, but I'd mark them all down as "winnable" with a fully fit squad.

The game against United has so much importance. Win or draw it and I honestly believe we can finish the season strongly. Not sure if we'll make top 4/5, but potentially will get some credit back and might be able to look forward to next season. Lose it and I think the doubts will creep in and the clouds of doom will fill the sky.

Didn't think I'd be up for the end of the season, but I can't wait for Fiiday.

Looking forward to this now, so you just know we're going to concede within 5 minutes and I'll wish it never restarted immediately.

It's such a shame this game is behind closed doors, even if you put aside the fact we haven't played for so long everyone would have been buzzing to see Kane and Son back.

The Athletic said:
Some sources close to United say Pogba needs to earn his way back into a team that went 11 matches unbeaten prior to the coronavirus outbreak.
I think Pogba has got that covered.

I reckon Mourinho will have been drilling us very hard defensively with the aim of making us hard to beat. I know it was only Norwich, but the fact that we didn't concede in the first 90 mins of the training/friendly is in itself a minor miracle given how terrible we were defensively pre-lockdown.

I think it'll be an ugly, cagey affair and we'll aim to stifle United. play the percentages and nick a goal: classic big game Mourinho. Hopefully now that he's had some real time to work with the squad, we'll actually be able to pull it off.

By all accounts Fernandes and Pogba are making quite the midfield partnership, going to be very tough.

I think it's going to be a dreadful game.

Sheeeeeeeit.

I’ll enjoy this a lot more if Man City stuff arsenal the day or so before. If arsenal win that the pressure will be unbearable.

Looking like a reallllllly bright idea to loan out Rose and KWP, without replacing them, while completely short of squad depth at the back now. This leaves us with 7 defenders for 4/5 positions, with a lot of games and no proper pre-season. Including one who's also our holding midfielder, one who's legs have abandoned him, and one who's barely played a minute since Jose arrived.

Yeah, honestly Rose wasn't great this season but he was at least serviceable. Better than throwing Sessegnon out there no doubt.

We spent 25m (and Onomah in part exchange) on Sessengnon. He's young and lacking in experience at the fullback position but the club has committed itself to giving him a chance. Better that than a player who is past it and who was quite clearly on the list of malcontents that the manager wanted out of the club in the summer.
