You can say what you want about the pen but dier should never end up isolated from that position .... someone should be covering ! Look at winks right behind him, we’re did he go surely he covers from there awful ! Some fans don’t wanna see it though

he shoves him in the back! It’s such an obvious penalty.

the tribalism is just hilarious. Everything has become Brexit, even following football

Thought we did well last night, considering on how long the break has been and players who have been out for longer. It was obvious we were going to tire in the second half, so made sense to sit back and counter.
I maybe would have done different subs, and moved Dier into central Midfield in place of Winks and put Alderweireld at the back.

I thought we defended well, and coped with the pace of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood well and for all their possession only had 2 clear opportunities to score.

It was inevitable Pogba would look fresh against a tiring team, where he could have a 30 minute burst, regardless of match fitness.

Bit of perspective, wanted a win but given our form and their form before the break, and players coming back from lengthy spells out injured, was not a bad performance and some are overreacting.

Negative for me, was the fat itchy penalty trigger ref and watching and listening to the game on Man U TV, but that’s always been the case.

Why wasn’t there more made about Fernandes diving in the media? 3-4 occasions he was rolling around without any touch whatsoever and they just glossed over it. Other players and teams would get picked up on just one of them.

From the analysis utd didn't tire so what is the difference, poor training and conditioning or something else.

Your post makes absolutely no sense. Tell me what Gedson offers playing out wide at the moment?
More than the youth team products you seem to be craving after? Heard all this bluster before. You mentioned Onamah, prime example. Winks is clearly blocking Skipps progression at the moment. We could be here all day.

Precisely, looks horrendously out of his depth. The standard of conversation I see in here is as low as it was before the lockdown. Time to retire this site, has been a shadow of itself for years
Neigh mate, you could always look for pastures new ...

At no point did I “crave youth team players”, I merely pointed out that none of them could do worse than Gedson who looks like Bambi on ice on the wing. Maybe it’s not his fault as he’s CM by all accounts, but he’s been rubbish.

Describes Spurs, the players and just about everything this season.

Why we didn't spend a few quid more to get Bruno, I'll never know. The price was NOT too high.
What makes you think Bruno would've chosen us over United? They're a bigger team, further up the league, with a much higher wage structure.

Maybe they did, but always the team with more possession is going to tire less than without the ball. Man U had fit outlets who are young, fit and pacy. Our outlets were older, slower and have had a length of time out injured with the exception of Bergwijn, who did look sharp when he did get some space.

You could tell this, as when we did get the chance to counter we looked promising, and due to fatigue, rustiness or bad decision making, our final passes were astray when on other days they wouldn’t.

History books will say a premier league fixture, but in context, was more a pre-season performance and expectations should have been as such.

We can take a lot of positives from that. I got a good chuckle out of Lamela's hair, for instance.

However, the second half tactics were indefensible.
Not really. How can a team press high when the front 3/4 players aren't fit enough to do it for 90+ mins? The plan clearly was to sit deep for a while, let them come out all guns blazing and catch them on the break to kill the game. It very almost worked. If we had a few fresh attacking options to come in around 65/70 mins mark (as they did), we could've started to press again. We didn't. So we didn't.

Said this at time of goal, i haven’t watched replays but i think we had 3 people near pogba and they let him go one on one with Dier, in fact they blocked him coming back out so was obvious where he was going to go with ball, was pathetic defensively all round.

If he's gonna play on the wing, Bennett, Markanday. I mean, they can't really do much worse. He looks like a schoolboy playing a couple of years up.
I don't rate fernandez that much, but the idea is he could keep a bit of possession and move well. We weren't trying to bring on a winger I don't think. It wasn't the time to give someone a debut. Wrong game entirely.
