Agreed, they probably edged it over the 90 but couldn’t complain if we got a point, just look so open when we aren’t on it and getting killed on the right

Really didn't understand starting Porro ahead of Spence. Djed is miles ahead at the moment in all departments.

AZ have that very tricky wide man don't they. A bit of a rehearsal for that last night. I think Pedro is super and my goodness, has the man had to out in a shift over the last 16 weeks, but he does struggle in one on one defending seemingly not unlike TAA. I always felt that at the start of the season one of the reasons Sarr was playing so much was to offer Porto the support he needed not only when defending but also to back him up when he was high up the pitch.

1st half seemed no energy, that's just spurs all over for a long time way before Ange it has been like this., don't understand why they don't give it high pressure for the whole game other teams can keep a tempo but we either have good 1st halves or good 2nd halves rarely both. 2nd half was decent and we were unlucky it felt like we could win it right up to the end. On saying they could have been 3-0 up, that's just conjecture, ifs and maybes all football games are like that and it's only the final score that really counts, that goes both ways and is largely excluded depending on agenda. It can't be denied its when we get done on the break that we look vulnerable with defenders running back and space open which we are all aware of, let's just hope vdv is back for the European games as him and solanke could be the difference, without them it could be a short run. 🤞

That first goal... we had 8 players in the box to their 3. Haaland was still able to just stroll past them all and tap the ball in. I know he's a big lad with amazing mobility and positioning, but still.

We’re a terribly coached team, off the ball at least. Last night even in the second half when I felt we physically dominated them ,they still could pass through the midfield too easily, still found huge gaps behind Porto and I still felt the press was far too chaotic .

We seem to rely on us being physically faster and stronger to dominate but of course that’s no always going to be possible.

I went last night despite having a chest infection and feeling really unwell but I couldn’t keep away - I thought we were due a really good game and performance. I haven’t read any comments on here and I haven’t read any reports so this is my impression of the game and the performance - what a load of shit.
Thats it. The team selection was bad, the performance was bad, the tactics were bad and because of the initial team selection the substitutions were bad. Ange needs a talking to - what on earth was Werner doing on the bench let alone on the pitch? If I was Moore or even Ajayi I’d be mightily pissed off. This was a training exercise to get the squad match fit for the Europa - we nearly snatched a point but I felt like the game had been thrown.
Some individuals had flashes of decent play and we managed a couple of decent moves but overall I should just have stayed at home and offered up a free ticket on here. The journey home wouldn’t have been so long and tedious and so bloody cold, I’m sure.
Brennan Johnson if you happen to be a SC lurker - wobble your head mate, what the hell was that? I don’t love you anymore.
Manchester City are well off their best. We would have won that if we started with our best team.
I disagree, I thought the team selection was spot on, the object of the exercise was to give game time to players coming back from injury and other new players to continue their acclimatisation and it did that in spades.
Big game next Thursday big cup to win last night helped that.

Feel more angry than usual after losing that game last night as it was entirely winnable.

Has the manager come out and explained why he left the two players City fear the most on the bench?

That decision seemed mad at the time. Handed a huge psychological boost to them.

Gonna start a drinking game…. Have to down a bottle of Jack each time you directly say or infer how terribly coached we are. Seems like a drum u r fond of going full John Bonham on!

Hear ya, buddy. We are the worst coached Spurs team since…. Also very familiar with how much you don’t like Ange. Fear not though… for you, Zond, E17, Shogun, and many others all your hopes will come true end of season, as I don’t doubt he will be sacked. With or without EL trophy. As those who want out outnumber—by a lot—those who want him to stay a little longer.

I would love to know how long those who want change would give their preferred replacement. A year? Two? Three? And do they believe that manager can succeed under the same limitations imposed by Levy?

I can hazard a guess that the specific replacement differs a bit between the fans clamoring for change. Though common consensus suggest the list in priority order may be:
Iraola
Poch
Frank
Howe
Michel
(plus whoever is the latest manager de jour)

Howe is a non starter. Poch would be interesting. Iraola could be solid, but only those with biased blinders on will purpsefully ignore that his high intensity style of play can also cause injuries. And also… why would he abandon european football to manage a club run by a chairman who historically never fully commits to any manage’s needs. Now on to Frank… just what we need… another coach that will split the fan base down the middle. Or you get the likes of Michel. Sounds sexy… but is a complete unknown for the most part.

If Ange gets the heave ho, I would like to see either a reunion with Poch or consider a true tactically astute chap like either Silva or Glasner. The latter does not get nearly enough credit for his outstanding work at a shitty Palace team. i also think that if he bought Guehi with him, we could make a smooth transition to 3 at the back. Lords knows we have a fair few CBs in the squad with Guehi: Romero, VdV, Danso, Dragusin, and Phillips or Vusckovic. Additionally we have a few would-be decent WBs… Spence, Porro, Udogie.

I wonder though how much patience the ones who want change would permit their new man. As I see a noticeable crossover between those screaming CONTE out with those talking day after day why Ange is also shit. Minus a player mutiny, I hope the new messiah may get an extra year from the same bunch who seem to consistently be the folks who agitate for making changes. Who constantly express reasons as to why whomever sits on the lily white throne needs to have their head removed.

Admittedly, I am not at the point where I completely lose my shit after getting beat by Man City and needing that result to restate the case for Ange‘s removal all over again. I just say, stopping shouting into the wind. We all hear and respect your decision. i just ask you to remember, we have read every negative thing you’ve said. Understand your very valid reasoning. But it has reached a point to where there is so much blue in the face that half of the board have started to resemble smurfs. To you all, I say again… you are probably right. Just take a calm breath and remember your wish is Levy’s command. He will absolutely be sacked…. But not until end of season. As Levy is too chickS shit to do it now.

In short…. I don’t think much more convincing is needed. We get it. He is shit. You borderline hate him. And feel we need a manager who can work within the crazy confines of Levy. And apparently the brain trust have decided it is either Frank, Howe, Iroala, or at a stretch, Poch.

Poch is the only realistic name in that list. Some People need to recalibrate expectations as someone like Iroala choosing us over a team that may be in the CL next season seems foolhardy.

Hence.. I’m all aboard The Glasner Express!!! 😂

Was clear from the starting 11 that we’re prioritising Europe and I’m fine with that.

We’ve been screaming out for Son & Kulu to have a decent rest and Spence has been putting in a hell of a shift since he’s got into the team.

My take on the game, we weren't great, they weren't great it was very much a clash between a second string (us) vs out of form (City) and neither team really grabbed control of the game. Both sides struggled to create clear chances but City were able to cut us open a few times and it stayed just the one goal mainly due to poor finishing as much as good defensive play from us. We looked very blunt going forward up until the substitutions at which point we started to build a bit of momentum.

This was a free pass in my eyes, nothing left to play for in the league so do everything we can to give us the best chance possible in the European games.

Don't think Ange needs to explain anything as it's pretty obvious why he started the team he did - it's fairly obvious to most of us anyway.

The really infuriating thing for me is that Haarland just jogs past Udogie and Udogie doesn't react at all . It's not even like it happened at pace. He does absolutely nothing with a player in clear view in a position for a tap in. Shockingly bad.

Our defending as a whole is 'unaware' and prone to going wondering or switching off, particularly in the FB positions. The amount of times people are completely free in the box or down the flanks is a real issue. Somehow we don't get punished as much as we should but most games we do to some extent.

It has to be a symptom of how we play because I don't believe the first thing on the defenders minds is to 'defend'.

Danso started wondering yesterday which led to the first goal as he was caught completed out of position but did continue to wander.
