Nothing will change my mind. The champions league is just a media hyped money train for companies like Enic, it counts for nothing against CENTURIES of rivalry.

Blue moon.
CENTURIES of rivalry? :nailbiting:

I know that time passes faster every year older that I get, but...what year is it?! Have I lost track again and it's the 2100s?! :(

Hehe not once, but twice in the last three seasons have we lost 4 out of 5 games with the one were we avoided defeat was Man City. I mean it happened this season with Emerson and Davies as CBs and Gil starting.

So yeah, City are large favourites to win, but a Spurs win or draw is not far-fetched.
It would be typical Spurs for us to beat City and then lose against Sheffield United.

I get that, but I can see Villa losing at Palace. They got back to 3-3 last night, but I think they have lost steam and Palace are flying especially with it at Selhurst.
All of us can see a scenario where Villa lose to Palace.

It's whether you are willing to accept a ~50% of Spurs getting top 4 while Arsenal get a ~90% chance o winning the league. Some will, some won't.

I can get both sides, can you?

It is really far fetched based purely on how we are playing and how they are playing now, at this time, at this stage. If you want to base it on the last few seasons then fine but most of those matches won were hugely against the odds and it can’t keep happening time after time. I’ve bet on Spurs winning by the way, you won’t get odds like that for a home team too often. COYS!!

Absolutely no need to ‘stop this narrative’. You do you and I’ll do me. It’s your right to support your club in anyway you choose the same as it is my right. You do not ‘stop’ anyone’s supporting narrative.

just because I don’t understand or agree with you does not give you the right to ‘stop my narrative’

I hope you’re able to beat off the decades of taunts that could be coming mate, because I have found it tough in the 20 years they’ve been going on about their last league title at whl.

Maybe i’ll just shove that 2008 league cup down their throats. That’ll learn them.
The narrative I am on about is you suggesting people wanting us to win tonight don't have any Gooners around them. I have them in my family and in my workplace and I have had "banter" throughout my 33 years on this earth. As I have got older I have learnt to let it go. If it bothers you, then fair enough. We're all fans and we all support how we see fit. I just find it odd to care about the banter that much. That's all.

I want us to win every game, because I care more about what we do than others.

I can accept it, because we put ourselves in the best position for us. Sean Dyche's Everton can be stubborn on their best day and frustrate Arsenal. Us winning tonight may give them one hand on the trophy, but that doesn't mean they are 100% winning it come Sunday. I'd rather focus on us and whatever happens as a consequence, so be it.

We've a number of members for whom English isn't their first language. I think the perp in this instance is one of them. Show some love. And patience. And some leg ;)
You couldn’t take the sight of my leg.

But with arsenals luck, everyone will be without all their key players, like so many other teams they faced this season!

but expect them to still win.

But agree, it won't be an easy place to go, but expect them to still win there.
It's at Arsenal. But again they may think they have it in the bag and get complacent. There's various scenarios that can play out, and in none of them is the league 100% done and guaranteed tonight.

Fuck, so it is. Not sure why I thought it was away! Even worse!

Out of interest, how many other spurs fans don’t care about the grief we will get if arsenal win the league?

For me once a club wants to lose matches even when there is something like a Champions League place at stake, that just sets a bad precedent.

We often talk about changing the mentality of the club, but if we’re not bothered about finishing as high in the league as possible, and we’re more worried about what Arsenal are doing, then I don’t see that mentality changing anytime soon.
I think any team with an historic and bitter rivalry would have their respective fanbase having the same sentiment and you can absolutely be certain of it that vast majority Arsenal fans would be wanting their team to lose in similar circumstances to deny us lifting the title.

Ultimately - and this is reflected with society at large - can we all just fucking agree to disagree and respect people's positions without making this a binary 'right or wrong' .

Completely agree with this. Again, like I enjoy the banter with opposing fans, what’s great about this forum is we don’t all agree about everything. That’s good. That’s what makes the place fun. We can disagree and respect each other at the same time.

Qualifying for the champions league is nowhere near enough reward for the decades of banter we will receive if we hand arsenal the title.

Quoted this, but not aimed at OP.

Everyone worried about the above realises that you are absolutely able to not let pathetic football "banter" impact your life, right? Like, it's a choice YOU can make.

If you rise to football "banter" then you are part of the reason it exists. Why allow something you have precisely ZERO control over (yet can absolutely choose to pay no mind to) impact yourself?

It's about as daft as it gets, IMO.
