Never once entertained the idea that we should want to lose this game, whatever it means for Arsenal. Especially while we could still get CL. Seems small time tbh, and I can't imagine for a moment that "most" Spurs fans want to lose this match. Would hope that anyone who does winds their neck in about us coming across as a"banter" club, or the weak mentality in the club apparently coming from the top, or whatever other bollocks you read ad infinitum.
It might be interesting seeing a poll on this @Archibald&Crooks ? I know it won't reflect Spurs as a whole as those that use social media and/or frequent forums regularly won't be a complete reflection of those in the ground

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

If we somehow beat city, we havnt handed arsenal anything, there are 37 other games in the season.

I cant see us winning anyway, but stranger things have happened

Seemed to me on TV that United fans were behind their team last night , surely they were in the same situation in that if they beat or drew with The Woolwich they would hand the title to City.
On a personal basis not going to lose any sleep if The Woolwich get the title , if Man C had won their home game against them the title would be theirs by now.

If City drop points it's on them at the end of the day. The title is in their hands, they face a team with 1 win in 5 and that was a narrow win at home to 2nd from bottom. We've been leaking goals and a number of players off form. They should be winning this as simple as that. I'm not sure how our own emotions are going to change that. So we should absolutely want to win as fans but at the same time not feel bad if we lose.

Right now I want Spurs to lose tomorrow. Wheb we kick off I'll want to see Spurs win. At FT I'll be happy regardless.

Romero and Van de Ven are our biggest goal threats. If City can keep those two on our side of the halfway line, then it’s 80% of the job done for them.

With Biss out who gets the extra spot on the bench tomorrow, even though they have a game on Thursday maybe Donley or Lankshear , they will get zero or maybe a couple minutes but time with the squad always beneficial.

More:

🗣️"People are allowed to feel way they do but I’ve been consistent and strong in my belief that it's important for this club to get to where we want to, not look for a silver bullet, it’s hard work, perseverance, quality not false dawns and know what real success looks like.”

🗣️”Anything in between, bragging rights, are meaningless to me. We've got a game tomorrow we want to win.”

🗣️"You think the majority of our fans don’t want us to win? I don’t see it that way, I think the fans inside the stadium will create the same atmosphere always do."
I mean what do we expect him to say? He cant come out and say

“The fans will probably be cheering the City goals tomorrow, and so will the players!”

“Fuck Arteta”

Ange will know that the majority would rather anything else than us gifting Arsenal the league.

I am probably in the minority on this - but I prefer, for this team, to be in Europa next year - and take it seriously. I think it's an opportunity to build a winning mentality, and the importance of taking every match seriously - but also giving opportunities to bed in 1-2 younger players.

I think we can go into that competition with an expectation to win - and we can't say that about CL. The only thing CL offers is more money - which is not insignificant, but also is not going to solve all of our problems.

Past evidence doesn't really back this up, we always go into that competition with an expectation to be challenging - we then serve up 4 or 5 matches of absolute dirge before going out in the last 16.

If anything we've had considerably more success in the Champions League in the past. Maybe players raise their game in the premier competition.

We went out at the group stage in our first asking under Poch, and 1st knock out the year after that.

We also have never taken the other European competitions seriously - which was part of my comment - that we take it seriously, and make a real run at it.

There are no guarantees in life - but we stand a MUCH better chance of winning Europa right now - with a squad in transition - than we do winning CL, or even making the knockout stage in the new format.

The managers attitude towards Europa has been disgraceful at times. Poch starting Onamah and Tom Carrol away at Dortmund. Nuno and Conte playing complete B teams and getting knocked out the groups etc.

Well despite having plenty of opportunities, we had a small-time, weak mentality over the last couple of months including getting thoroughly rinsed by all our biggest rivals. If we had managed even just 3 points more in that time then the CL fight would be close rather than a very long shot also needing us to hand arsenal the title.

However, it would be very Spurs for us to finally discover our big boy pants at the worst possible moment.

I'm very, very much on the side of wanting Tottenham to win, regardless of the footballing cost. I really, do not care about Arsenal. I don't have the energy to be wasting it on something that isn't Spurs lol.

Indeed. I'd much rather live with whatever happens knowing we gave it our best instead of wondering what ifs knowing we half-arsed and phoned it in as per usual. Plus we need to rotate properly next season if we're to keep up the intensity that even a mere 40 games proved too much for our squad for half of this season. Paradoxically we need more games to do that so yet another pitiful group stage exit wouldn't help.
