This irked me and put me off Ange when he wouldn't give him minutes until forced too. How much talent will we let slip by for this type of foolishness. Alfie Dorrington who is a natural defender doesn't get any minutes but he'd play Archie Gray out of position and ignore a natural centre back.
Given that his exile spanned two or three managers there was clearly something amiss that perhaps wasn't related exclusively to his quality as a player. Now that may have been solved and he's got his head down and worked hard or, Ange has been forced to. We don't know and neither do you. So I think you're being more than a little harsh making a judgement based on, well, nothing really.

I get the other managers bit and him being farmed out on loan and chit chatter about his attirude... however in preseason we all saw a different Spence he then got a new contract and STILL didn't get minutes ( I take cognizance of his injury enforced absence as well ) I still think it was rather foolishness on Anges part at the time. Porro desperately needed a break we had a RB on the bench who he just ignored game after game.

Oh my days , 1,000,000% better than Klopp who was absolutely insufferable!!!

Surely Ange & Slot the neutrals 2 favourite managers in the PL!

Slot is so calm and likeable.
I really enjoy the way he talks about the game. Very detailed and doesn't get drawn to controversy too much.

Compared to Klopp who would be a bully on the sidelines and in interviews.

And Liverpool fans have the cheek to call Ange prickly and unpleasant

Why am I agreeing with Rory fucking Jennings

Neither of the commentators on my feed understood the laws of the game (and the entire population of the Country of Liverpool regarding the outcome of that Bergvall tackle.

You can't play advantage, and then return to a foul and book/send off a player unless (as i understand it) it was a reckless challenge.

Bergvall made a late, poorly time challenge
Camera cut to him towards the end of the game, he looked a bit concerned

And so he should, Kinsky commanded his area better at corners, made two superb saves and distributed the ball well. This without any hysterics, finger pointing or berating a single Spurs player.

I am all in on this kid moving forward.

12 men unavailable and another taken off after 6 minutes against the top team in country who’ve not lost in 24 games. That’s what you call a performance!
Could have had 3. Porro should have scored; the offside is ridiculous - his shoulder is marginally ahead but you can’t score with your shoulder.
Finally we got a bit of the rub of the green - not before time .
At least we have something to protect at Anfield. A lot can happen in 4 weeks. We should have players back and who knows where Liverpool will be by then form wise, injury wise?

Can we appreciate Spence and acknowledge that he should now be Porros competition/back up?
Been top shelf every appearance for me especially considering the circumstances. Well done to him think he's showed a mental strength many claimed he didn't have, that's all part of growing up and developing.

Smashing result. It's getting easier to have more confidence in Ange as the ship gets steadier. The new keeper looks a find, Bergvall looks more at home, Spence and Gray benefitting from game time, and Solanke's role in the goal deserves heaps of praise. Good stuff.

Don’t think anyone on the pitch was below a 7 tonight. Best performance for a LONG time
i think this is the difference tonight compared to our recent performances.
there were many that played at 8/10 or above tonight - kinsky, dragusin, archie, spence, bergvall, solanke.
that we were able to manage the 2 or 3 6/10 - son, deki, maybe johnson with the last 2 probably at 7.5? - biss and porro.

our recent matches - hardly few players above 8/10. and more 6/10.

whether that's tactics, motivation, or mentality, in a cup semi final, against the league n champs league leaders, with our injuries and suspensions, and form of not having won in a while - this is HUGE!

bodes very well for experience and the future that this bunch of young lads can rise up to the occasion!

we know how we badly faltered in big matches over the years, even in poch era.
