Buzzing for this.

Expect the Pool team to be:

Kelleher

Bradley
Van Dyke
Quansah
Tmiskas

Gravenbirch
McCallister
Jones

Salah
Jota
Gapko

Think we can do em.

Biggest game of the season for us and I think United worked them hard on Sunday.

4-2 Spurs

The second leg isn't for a month when hopefully nearly everyone is back (fingers crossed). Need to stay in it going to Anfield.

PP have us at 14/5 and Pool at 4/6. Depressing odds those.

Just like before the Newcastle game I'm expecting a hiding but hopefully they put in another good shift like we did on weekend and we aren't embarrassed like we were in the 6-3.

Both teams tonight went very strong and expect pool will tomorrow as well although hopefully they give Salah a night off.

So what result do we reckon we realistically need as a minimum to stay in the tie?

Draw?

I think a 1 goal loss keeps us in it. You’re obviously not going to put your house on us going through but I’d class that as still being in the tie, even against this very good Liverpool team.

I can't see us winning at Anfield, so I doubt a defeat here by one will cut it. The interesting thing variable ahead of kick off us who Luverpool 'rest', if anyone. Will Allison, VVD, and Salah all play? Will that even matter?

I think it's a big game for Bentancur, along with the 2nd half of the season for him. He's had an average or worse 2024 with injuries, suspension, and form. He's 27 now, time to make a mark or this short career is in danger of petering out. He's got the makings of a top midfielder, but it's come off the rails and he needs a big 2nd half to this season, I reckon.

Think they'll be taking this very seriously. Pool will be desperate to get the first trophy of the post Klopp era to try and keep the momentum going.

2-2 is my optimistic prediction. That'll keep us in the tie until we can (hopefully) get some defenders back for the return leg next month.

Liverpool will go full strength tonight, they've got Accrington Stanley at home in the cup on Saturday and a 6(9) point cushion in the league and will not want to have to stretch themselves in the second leg if they can help it.
Trust me they'll want to win the tie tonight same as us.

Agreed. I'm expecting full strength and an extremely difficult evening for us.

I don't think it's as cut and dried as a Liverpool win. Just try and treat it as a one off cup game and go for it.

We should be a bit fresher, United worked them hard on Sunday.

Biggest game of the season. Honestly think if it's a massive atmosphere we',ll do them.

We'll want it more.

Honestly we could go to Anfield 3 up, and I'd still make them favourites.

Genuinely can't decide on what scoreline I'd take from tonight into the second leg at Anfield that would make us favourites. I'd still be shitting it at 5-0.

I think they only way i would be confident going into Anfield is with a 4 goal lead.
