Finding solace in scoring 3 vs liverpool is really scraping the barrel. It wasn't a competitive game. They were out of sight. That was a humiliating tonking we've just taken at home. No fortress that new whl. Taking the edge off being well beaten by chelsea and pool at home doesn't mean we haven't been well beaten.
I was talking to someone about this the other day. I remember when the new WHL was built they talked about how the away changing room is the best one ever. I wonder if we’ve made the away day experience too comfortable for teams as our home form is average at best.

I can’t stand that our coach sends the boys out for a beating. Obviously Liverpool are a good side and obviously we should tweak to account for it. Instead the “go blow for blow” tactic wasn’t going to work and when 5-1 down, I’d rather they prove to Ange he needs to adapt (not change everything.).

if you need to be 4-0 to win a game you are not a clever coach. I’m bored of knowing how it goes and paying money to see it
That's fair but I can't get in board with wanting us to get humiliated in order to get a manager sacked, that's not on for me.

I do think that Ange is trying to tweak things though, for example the fullbacks have stayed wider in the last couple of games and last night, Spence stayed deeper to, probably to try and negate the threat of Salah.

At the moment though, he's not being helped by a lack of available options and some of his senior players letting him down.

Indeed but even porro vs trent Diaz vs solanke I've just seen so many banging on about rotation and how tired they are, how many games they played this season just isn't really true either they played more or it's very close.
Look at the pressing statistics. High intensity pressing, twice a week, not able to rotate definitely going to impact on tiredness vs Liverpool who press with less intensity and have rotation options. I'm all for Ange in. Willing to give him the time needed to turn things around and also come up with solutions against teams that sit back and counter. Look at Arteta's first 2 years at Arsenal. I guess sometimes you've got to look at the longer term project

It's the players and their mentality, which stems from the club's culture of just tracking along. There's no fierce determination to protect our goal, win individual battles, and make it a place to fear. Add a pile injuries and a dysfunctional side that can't properly implement the managers tactics. And a manager who won't tweak the game plan to suit the players available, and it's a game to relish for visiting sides.

In fairness, we've had shitty home records outside of Poch in recent years, so it's not like it's a new thing. But this lot are stealing a living for the most part. And Ange has signed off on some of them too.

I was standing there in the south stand watching us take a naive-feeling pasting from a very good team when this wave of deja vu washed over me. I couldn't quite think what it was. Last night I remembered what it was. We've gone a full thirty year circle - I was being transported back to standing in the old WHL watching Ossies Spurs! What a great attacking side that was, what a rollercoaster!! Unfortunately it didn't end well because Ossie wouldn't or couldn't change the way he wanted to play. I think we ended up just outside the relegation zone and had a decent cup run? Someone can look it up for me but the history is there and we need to learn from it. I'm looking at you Ange.
