I have no doubt Mourinho will show everyone why he's the most successful manager in modern football.

The way he tactically set up is great. Give him a few of his own players and a little time and we will be there or there about.

Away from anything else, really pleased with Tanganga. Thought he was solid, took his chance. Really hope he gets a run now and signs that new contract.

Tells you how far we've regressed. Being proud of losing at home. I can understand not being furious, but proud. Sorry, but that's something a Norwich fan could feel
I think considering our recent form there was a few positives to take from the 2nd half

I think people are getting a little carried away. Lo Celso and Lamela clearly made an impact but Liverpool were knackered by the time they came on. I don't think Lamela and Lo Celso can offer that sort of energy over a full 90 mins so probably why they were left on the bench.

I suspect if both had started we may not have been a great deal better off sadly.

Imagine calling Jose a fraud. Tactically this has been perfect for beating the scousers, our finishing has just been tragic
This.

Klopp had no answer to the changes. It's obvious his world would be crushed if GLC had scored from the cross. He's lucky we started with Eriksen. I dare anyone, especially the hindsight experts, to compare what Mourinho did to what Poch could have done.

As for Eriksen I feel for him, not gonna defend his performance today but he’s a 10 playing CM trying to protect the backline because the board refuses to buy a DM

Also his confidence is dead, he needs to restart his career.I love him and always will. Will never forget what he’s done for us

I hate how many hate comments he gets from our fanbase

He should go to Inter, help them win the league and prove he’s still world class

Oh ffs putting the right starting lineup is part of the tactics. Stop saying Mourinho got the tactics right. We were completely dominated for 70 minutes until he actually changed the tactic

He was pragmatic, he kept us in the game and had a go later on.

We had 2 chances towards the end and should have taken 1 of them

Back 3 were actually good I think today. Rose and Eriksen really bad. Eriksen backed out of challenges on more than one occasion. Winks, Aurier and Lucas not bad. Subs made an impact. Really poor finishing.

First half showed why we need a replacement in midfield. Second half why we need one up front.

Hate losing to those fuckers!

Formation works, but I still don't like the "give the ball up" approach.

Counter attacking football should still be with direct passes not aimless hoofs
Except the fairly many times we did pass it through them. In the second half we passed it around a lot better.

Cant really criticise much of that really, well I don't think so. Fact is we were playing a better team than us currently. Better quality, better work rate, better form, better rhythm, better confidence, better in every aspect. European champions and will stroll to the title this year having dropped what, two points so far all campaign.

I am as much of an advocate for control of the ball/game as anyone on here, but the way we set up was how you sometimes have to go about it. Defend deep, get behind the ball, try and frustrate. You will be living off scraps. You wont see much ball. It wont be pretty. It's got to be done sometimes. I thought we went about it quite well, individually I thought everyone tried to do their role and stuck to the task (even if the fans wanted to hammer Eriksen non-stop...), but unfortunately a situation from a throw in where three or four consecutive small things in a passage of play went against us meant we were 1-0 down. Small margins at this level.

Second half was much the same, quite a limited effort but still an effort. And then we got the classic 1-0 late in a game scenario, the losing team finds some extra effort and urgency, the team that's ahead gets a bit nervy and caught between attack and defence and the natural tendency to drop on their lead. We had a good go, and eked out a couple of big chances to get something out of it.

I said only yesterday that as a starting point to improvement we need to get back to absolute basics - 11 players who will run through brick walls for the team and give 110% and everything they have. Today in that respect was not perfect but a lot better, and something to build on midweek and every game going forward.

Seems though our fanbase, whether at the match or watching on the box, is suffering a collective breakdown at the moment. A lot of wailing going on and a pretty toxic atmosphere.

Levy always over pricing players so we cant get rid of who we should be letting go. Eriksen, Wanyama, Rose, Vertonghen, Lamela, Walker Peters should have all have been sold and replacements come in.

I would agree with that but not Lamela as he’s least of our problems.

Yes he’s injury prone but others in squad I’d get rid of over him.

I agree with this 100%, unfortunately it's the world we live in today.

Whoever the guy is who asks questions in the tunnel needs sacking. Is that the best journalist Sky can hire. Predictable and boring every time.

Gazzaniga was fucking brilliant today though. Also well done to the youngster, couldn't have a harder game to get a start in (especially with the back line already being shaky).

By now Jose must realise that he can't rely on Eriksen.

It's a shame it's ended this way but he needs to be sold asap for the sake of the team.

Also Dele must be dropped for a number of games or he'll never learn. Clearly being dropped by England isn't enough motivation.

Great second half performance and a lot to be positive about.

I didn't want this game to start because I thought we would be getting a hiding, in the end I didn't want it to end. Only one team looked like scoring in the last 20 minutes, and I was gobsmacked to discover that it was us.

Tanganga really impressed, talk about throwing him in at the deep end, but he did himself real credit and certainly justified Jose's faith.

Lamela and Lucas showed some spirit too, hopefully that starts rubbing off on others.

Many want Lo Ceslo to play ahead of Eriksen for contract reasons and because the Dane is leaving, but based on the last couple of games he will soon be ahead of him on performances alone. Such a shame he managed to scuff his chance, bet he couldn't miss that more than once in hundred times.

If not for that and the fact the Son was just having one of those days in front of goal and we take at least a point from that game all day long. Still lots of problems out there, but I am actually proud of most of our boys for the first time in quite some time...

What I like about Jose is that he is brave enough to sub off any non-performing players (irrespective of status or seniority in the team) and also to give the subs sufficient time to see if they can have an impact in the game. Poch rarely did that.

Agreed, you can't play like the last 20 minutes all game against the best team in the league. Better finishing (and don't forget the 2 early chances for Son and Lucas) and we could have won this.
