Hey @chinaski, I just noticed we are two guys with low post counts who joined the forum within 1 day of each other six years ago, and both posted with 3 minutes of each other

Something's in the air peeps, it's happening...

Must be so amazing for the players to even just be preparing for such a match, something they may have never thought they'd experience at Spurs.

I've somehow calmed down as the match has gotten closer, I think my anxiety primarily came from it just being so far away. It was strange but my nervousness kicked in almost as soon as the final whistle went against Ajax, thoughts of how worried I'd be watching the final hit me immediately. Thing is even if we win, you know it's going to be 90 minutes of shitting yourself. I don't think it's the type of match we'll feel like we've won until the final whistle has hit.

I just really, really hope we don't make life easy in any way for Liverpool and by that I mean by conceding in the first 10 minutes or leaving plenty of space in behind and out wide.

Just hoping for something magical.

Regardless of which way it goes, at least I'll feel like I can move forward with life again afterwards :D

I just listened to Talksport (which I never do) and now I realise why I don’t.

It’s Liverpool’s destiny
Their season will still be a success due to them “just” missing out on the league
Our team isn’t as good as their team
They have experienced the final defeat and are more focused than us
They finished 26 points above us. This was the best one. When a spurs supporter phoned in and said we beat the team that finished above them in the league. Durham basically said. That doesn’t count. As it wasn’t a final.

Got to love talkshite.

I love this one. Losing makes you a winner.

The scousers have a marginally better first XI than us, but the large points difference is explained by their far superior squad. When's the last time we had a fully fit squad? I feel like with this we are still very much an unknown quantity. You certainly can't label them clear favourites.

If there's one positive it's that we will have options to change things should we need to. We will have one big name on the bench if Winks and Sissoko play.

The day Son scored against Man City and said to the camera: “you know what? we’re going to win!” I believed.

I want us to win, for us, obviously. For the glory of it etc but the more the days go on my main reason for wanting to win it is to shove it up the arses of the so-called experts who think we have no chance.

Honestly, I absolutely cannot wait until Saturday night when we stuff the scouser just to see people like Souness crying and blaming the ref!

It is really pissing me off reading opinion after opinion saying that we will get slaughtered. Yes they are a bit better than us, but you would think we were a Sunday pub team playing against the Brazil team from 1970 the way that some pundits are going on!

That should be a huge motivation for the team.

Please boys, go out there and hammer these bloody media darlings!

Bookies have us as 17/5 with Scousers at 10/11.....love it. If they are basing that on our late goal defeats against them this season then they are making a huge mistake. There is very little between the two sides, I must admit, but tomorrow night it will be just enough to tip the match in our favour. Sick to death of hearing Lawro and his cronies saying "We deserve it"..you deserve nothing...really hope we shut them up.

I know I should be feeling nervous, but I'm not. I'm just enjoying the moment. It's a strange and giddy thing we've made it this far. It's been an absolute fairytale ride. Yes, we may very well lose the final. And for a couple of weeks we may be a bit down, but after a spell, we'll all look back at that run, and admire and cherish it as one of our fondest Spurs memories. Or, yeah, we might just win it. But nothing can take away what we have achieved this season:

We finished in the Top 4. We secured UCL again next season. We are playing in our new stadium. We will invest serious money into the squad over the summer. All-in-all, this has been a rather miraculous considering all the crap we've come up against.

Winning tomorrow is merely the cherry on top of the cake. I'm gonna do my best to just enjoy the game... but like everyone else, I'm sure once the ball starts rolling, the butterflies will start, and I'll be screaming loudly at the television!!

The biggest thing we have going for us is that Liverpool are playing away from Anfield. And their record away this season in Europe is not the greatest.

Hope we have enough spurs fans in the stadium to match them.

Keep telling myself one off game in a neutral venue. Even second half at Anfield we had them. We can do it, especially with everyone available now. Nervous, yet I still believe in this group. Just want us to put on a performance we can all be proud of.

I keep coming back to this point in my head, they are not at Anfield and their away form is dodgy at best.

And we’ve been underdogs since the third game of the group stage essentially. Yet we’ve scored late goals against PSV and Inter to keep hopes alive. We inexplicably qualify to the last 16 by scoring an 84th minute equaliser at Barcelona. Then we slap Dortmund at their legendary ground, dig in at City and turn a three goal deficit at Ajax into a victory in a performance of guts and verve and pure never say die mentality. If anything, that second half against Ajax crystallised our mentality in the CL since our fourth group game.

Psychologically speaking, we are tough, resilient fuckers who can actually play football too. Sure, Liverpool overcame Barcelona but that was at home; we’ve been grinding out successes away and I think this is a key factor that’s being ignored by many aspects of the media
