Why can’t we just defend properly and grind out a 1-0 win instead of keep conceding early every home game .

shocking again in the goals we concede. The back 4 were all poor .

No doubt DR Tottenham will fold at Man City and get them back on track
Nearly twenty years ago a fellow Spurs supporter I was working with at the time, the day before a fixture similar to today's said to me "Tottenham can kick start anyone's season". It's come back to haunt me so many times since then.

There are days where we can't always be super attacking - I get that. But why the fuck can't we defend like a premier league side. It's pathetic. No leadership at the back at all. Romero doesn't seem to give a shit, Porro's defending pretty poor (or Johnson not trying to help) and Dragusin looks like Bambi on ice. Partly the system of having the super high full backs. Does the risk v reward really work? It's incredibly frustrating.

And this is THE problem. Until Ange realises that top level premier league football teams can defend as well as they attack then we’re destined for mid table mediocrity with the occasional great result surrounded by too many defeats.

I am pretty sure Ange sees our wingers as our main problem. Losing the ball too often, no threat from dribbles, poor crossing. The big problem is that one is the star captain, and the other scores goals. And he doesn’t have any good replacements for the time being.

I cannot believe I have read people blaming ENIC for that defeat…clueless
I’ve seen plenty of people, myself included, who think what we’re seeing now is typical under ENIC and that things won’t change under them.

Nobody I’ve seen has suggested today’s defeat, in isolation, is down to them.

That ought to be clear to anyone with an ounce of common sense, so if you’re going to throw ‘clueless’ around, it’d be good if you had a clue yourself.

What's frustrating is that, as was obviously going to happen, Chelsea and Arse have drawn and we could have been THIRD right now. :banghead:

Edit: Ange sounds pretty downbeat

Back from the game, don't want to talk about it.
Outfought, outworked, bullied and beaten.
A win today against the second worst side in the division and we'd have been third.
Time to make the decision and prioritise the cups.

It doesn't matter. Screw up today, in two weeks, or in two months. The outcome is the same.

It's good to see that most of the blame is aimed at ownership. They are clearly not prioritizing taking the next steps in on field success.

But with that said, my word, they have provided enough talent and depth to avoid today's result. They have top 6 talent through the middle, but our wingers are by far the weakest spot on the squad and yet, despite tweaks to the approach here and there, we continue with a final 3rd approach entirely reliant on the wings producing a moment of brilliance. I don't know if that can be diverted from Ange who in his actions appears to live Brennan and Son/Werner as options.

The best 45 minutes we've played this season had Madison drifting out left leaving space inside for Son but we have not gone back to it. The consistent approach just doesn't work with our personnel while at the same time it's the one spot Ange seems to be happy with. There is a disconnect that I am missing on what we are trying to do that these guys are the answer because we keep running out the same people with the same approach and then acting surprised when we have the same failed result.

All over X even O’Keefe. We know things won’t change. It’s been like this for years. I have a clue..the 11 players who started that game should be able to beat Ipswich.
