In the 1st half fulham played smith-rowe and raul up top and shut off the passing lane to biss.

They were quite willing to alllow the cbs to pass out, knowing they arent the best passers.
Agree and with the pace of Johnson, Werner and Son and also their lack of physicality we should have sat deeper and looked to play far more direct and over the top. Horses for courses and all that.

We have had a complete overhaul of players since those two were here - like only Davies is still there from the Zagreb defeat. More than half the squad from the Southampton draw have gone. It's such a lazy take. They can't *all* be the problem.
I’m not saying that, obviously they are different players but it’s the culture of the club that is the constant.

Any player that we bring in will be affected by its surroundings and the truth of the matter is, we are not built to succeed. There’s no real pressure to be the best.

The players may change but until the club as a whole demands more (owners, managers, fans) those tags will continue to haunt us.

A complete overhaul but largely replaced with young unproven talent or contract situations we have been able to exploit

virtually no proven winners signed and most of the youngsters look like decent technical players rather than captain material

so hard to say we have strengthened the mentality even with the overhaul

I thought we played reasonably well against a very strong and well organised Fulham side. That said, it felt like we lacked a bit of confidence, probably because we didn’t have a proper striker on the pitch. Son struggled, he just didn’t look sharp. Was it entirely his fault? Probably not, as he was playing out of position upfront. But those two gifted chances he has to do better!!

In the end, I think a draw is a fair result. Fulham are a really good team, and this game, much like the Roma match, could have gone either way. Considering all our injuries, I think a point is good.

Again it seemed like they had alot of space especially down the wings and the left side. Iwobi seemed to cause alot of problems. They took advantage of the space left by our fullbacks pushing forward . This gave them the chance to send in crosses and put us under pressure.

We struggled to cover these wide areas quickly enough.

It was never going to be like the City game, and a point isn’t the worst outcome. Oh and it was a deffo red, just a shame we didn’t have more time to push for the winner. we looked like we could’ve gone on to take all three points.

Onto the next game... We are performing about as I had expected , we are doing okay considering all the injuries.

We always struggle out wide because our full backs are up in the opposing pen area. It’s classic tactics against us. Wait till the Man Utd cup game. They play 3-4-3 , wing backs high and wide all the time.
We are just hanging on at the moment. Need Solanke back asap, Son just cannot play up front .

Agree we need solanke back ..we lose so much presence upfront and son just isn't the same in that role.

We are deffo vulnerable with our full backs pushing too far forward, but when it clicks it's been brilliant as we have seen we just have to find the balance?

I have felt we've been more compact the last couple of games since the injuries and letting teams use the wings more, like in the Roma game. It’s worked at times, but it does give them space to exploit for sure. Both sides found ways to score from wide areas in the end but we defended well for most of both matches . It's a tough one ... Not going to be easy on Thursday no game is

As well as the 1v1 (winger v fb) issue where we let wingers run at us & get far too many crosses in, we also seemed to let runners come inside & a simple pass caused mayhem.

For me it shows we simply have to bring in another forward in January that is first team ready. Another dangerous forward in would make a huge difference (praying he doesn't get injured straight away)

Sons a passenger who's not taking his chances, but let's take off the top goal scorer who's a passenger too.
You have a point there about them both being passengers, however on his best day (admitedly not seen for a while) Son is above Johnson who for me has moments in games but not games full of quality. Just my opinion but others are allowed too....

I switch off when being told that us who wont get on to a Levy canning or demands he goes accept mediocrity or are soft and limp. No-one anywhere in my history can tell me I accept mediocrity or call me soft and limp. The situation isnt as simple as been projected by those people and I refuse to see it the same way they do and certainly there are others too in their measured discussion who have demonstrated the same. Its almost childish and emotionally immature to keep addressing everyone who doesnt see things the same way as you in a derogatory way.
I'm also glad when I come on here frustrated with the result and on the verge of having a good moan, then see some voices of reason that bring me back to some sort of sanity, though it probably helps that I see many arguments I completely disagree with.

Fulham have learned that it's possible to have a real go when playing Tottenham and several others clubs, and so they do. It's a good attitude to have. Manchester City have learned to be wary when playing Tottenham, and so Spurs play like that — they benefit by the investment of effort they've put in against City previously.

Fulham have a number of players who were at Arsenal until not so long ago, and so there's a kind of effort and cohesiveness that they bring to their play. Spurs were playing European football on Thursday night, while Fulham had done nothing of the sort and were far fresher against a Spurs side having to compete despite squad omissions. As for Brennan Johnson, I just wish he'd stay off the social media, think positively, look happier than he does, or just sort out what could be be a young fellow moping-about-a-girlfriend. Not forgetting that there were some nice performances from the Spurs players who do take themselves in hand and lead by example.
