Ahead of taking on Fulham on Sunday (kick-off 1.30pm UK), Ange spoke to the media at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.
"Romero is closer (to returning), he is probably the closest," Ange explained. "He's probably unlikely, but I'm not ruling him out.
Ange was also asked about Dominic Solanke after the striker looked in some discomfort following a second-half challenge from Mats Hummels in Thursday's draw with Roma. "He's fine," Ange said. "He is a bit sore.
Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert, Mikey Moore and Guglielmo Vicario all remain sidelined while Rodrigo Bentancur is suspended.
