Each to their own

For me I think he tries to be too impartial and comes across more negative than anything else.

I'd sooner listen to Neville and CarragherNe

As long as Neville isn’t doing our game vs United!

Bergval is trying too hard and probably isn't the man for a wet night in Stoke. However, he wont improve if he isn't played so tonight should be viewed as a big plus and a chance for the coaches to show him what he needs to improve upon.
I do think he was overly keen due to missing the last game unexpectedly. Also as you mentioned the pitch did not help him.

Just watched the game on Spursplay. Bloody good game. Opposition were better than I thought, with plenty of pedigree. They have won all six of their games this season, and the league title for the last six years too.

Ange came out of this smelling of roses, took a risk, but it really paid off.

Mikey bloody Moore ….what a treat we are in for!

He couldn’t talk cos he was smiling so much. Kinda like a 19yo that’s just made his debut.

I can’t believe you said that about Sarr. He everywhere tonight helping out the defense, breaking up play, starting attacks, scored a goal and had a couple of good shots as well. Wow either you’re a hard taskmaster or we’re watching a different game to me😅
Sarr and Biss were great in midfielder.

Random question.

Was the crowd noise really quiet for this game on TNT?

I’ve just got a new TV and soundbar and I’m not entirely sure I have the audio setup correctly as it’s really quiet. Commentary totally fine. Crowd and pitch-side noise just a bit non existent throughout.
It was plenty noisy

Last time we started with four teenagers was 26th February, 2009. We were in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup against Shakthtar Donetsk. Harry Redknapp was in charge and didn't particularly care for the tournament - especially in the circumstances where we were only 14th in the Premier League and not yet totally safe from relegation, standing 5 points clear of Blackburn and Middlesbrough and only 6 clear of bottom-placed West Brom after the infamous 2 points from 8 start. We'd heavily rotated for the first leg in Ukraine and lost 2-0. The return leg was also only three days before the League Cup Final against Manchester United, a chance to retain the trophy and qualify for Europe again. Instead of making a serious attempt to overturn the deficit, we started Giovanni Los Santos, Chris Gunter, Jonathan Obika, and a certain Gareth Bale. Despite that we were actually 1-0 up on the night and pushing for a second before Shakthtar equalised on the break late on, finishing 1-1 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate.

Spurs would go on to lose the League Cup on penalties following a dire 0-0 after extra time at Wembley, with Jamie O'Hara missing the decisive spot kick having been one of those to play the previous Thursday. He was swiftly awarded a new contract in the hopes he'd put the disappointment behind him, but it clearly had an impact and he arguably never reached a decent level again in his career. In the league our recovery under Redknapp continued, and we went into the final day at Anfield with a chance of still qualifying for the new Europa League, but eventually missed out and finished 8th - but not being in Europe did help us get 4th for the first time in the Premier League era the following season. Meanwhile, Shakthtar Donetsk went on to defeat CSKA Moscow, Marseille and Dynamo Kyiv before overcoming Werder Bremen after extra time in Istanbul to lift the UEFA Cup.

An interesting alternative history. Redknapp takes the tournament seriously, doesn't play the kids, takes advantage of a relatively easy bracket, and goes on to lift the UEFA Cup instead. However, this does put Tottenham into the Europa League the next season - and with those extra games, the run to 4th place, the following Champions League run, Bale's San Siro hattrick and our defeat of both Milans never happen. Would you swap this for reality?

I think the commentators were in a studio in London not Budapest which could explain the unusual balance between commentary and crowd noises.
My lad even said that it sounded as though Hoddle was in a different room to Whatshisface.

Good performance considering who we had out there.

Most impressed Archie Gray who played in numerous positions and looked totally at ease. He isn’t going to nail down a starting place yet but what a handy option to have. Him playing left back so comfortably has really set my mind at ease over the lack of cover there.

moore and lankshear looked good and I thought sarrr was approaching his best too.

a very good win considering the age of our team.

Bergvall didn't really live up to our expectations yesterday, but that falling-backwards-to-the-ground-accidentally-ricocheting-the-ball-to-Sarr assist puts Vertongen's Son assist to shame

Well-worked training ground routine.

That little Cruyff flick towards the end of the second half deep in our defensive corner to wrong foot about three of their attackers and get us out of a very tight spot was absolute class and showed how cool a head he has. 75% of established players would just have been looking to smash it as far away as possible.

Should Romero have done better for their goal?
I think it was a pretty good goal and once the cross went past the first defender there was little you could do. It was an outstanding cross and finish. If there was any blame it needed to be at source. The cross should have been blocked whoever that was. But a cross at that speed and quality CB’s have no chance. if reviewing how to stop, it would be before the cross Was made. From memory Johnson almost intercepts. But our right side player defensively would need to prevent that cross coming in. Only way you stop that goal

I have noticed this before not just with TNT but also with Sky , if you have Spursplay and can watch the game replay or highlights with our own commentator Rob Daly the atmosphere and commentary is so much superior to what you get on the live TV feed , not sure what they do but they certainly seem to cut crowd noise.
The blessimg of Spursplay replays of the games is that you do not have to put up with comments like Hoddle last night , criticising the current defensive tactics when his own team couldn't hold a 3-0 lead against United all those years ago
