You dont need to go back to 'defensive coaches'. I didnt say play defensive, did I ?
By the way, you need to look at what we conceded last season - 61 goals conceded in PL. In season in 2016/17, when we played the best attacking football in decades under Poch, we conceded also less -26 for whole season
So, we have done in last 10 years - to play attacking and yet be solid.
Quite a defensive post.

Our first goal went from a 17 year old to a 19 year old debutant to an 18 year old to a 22 year old to score.
I think we can say the experiment paid off.

Random question.

Was the crowd noise really quiet for this game on TNT?

I’ve just got a new TV and soundbar and I’m not entirely sure I have the audio setup correctly as it’s really quiet. Commentary totally fine. Crowd and pitch-side noise just a bit non existent throughout.

Also in the bottom 2 or 3 in stats relating to chances conceded
But who cares when the media have invented a narrative about Spurs being too cavalier and giving away too many opportunities?

Ugh. Some of the shit they spout is so tiresome.

Last four or five games and we conceded one goal from a set piece. Suddenly that narrative is looking ropey too.

I’m not sure any “narrative” is that important, is it? Does it matter if some lazy journalists “spout shit”? Just fucking ignore it, surely? What happens from game to game on the pitch is what matters. What doesn’t matter is what the media spout because it’s largely bollocks.

Anyway… the crowd noise… was it quiet?

I think the commentators were in a studio in London not Budapest which could explain the unusual balance between commentary and crowd noises.

Not really what I said but you do you.
Bias aside, Hoddle's commentary shows that he doesn't understand Ange's style of football and that Ange wants the team to play the same way throughout the game. He keeps suggesting that Spurs change their tactics and we all know that's a waste of breath so why bother.

A biased commentator is one thing but an ignorant commentator? No thank you.

He was fucking me right off tonight. So negative. My idol. But not as a commentator.

First off it was pleasing to see a Tottenham team in an away Europa League game taking it seriously and trying to win the game for the whole 90 minutes. Some of our performances in previous years have been downright embarrassing.
Ferencvaros gave us a tough game and kept plugging away and probably deserved their goal.
Some good performances: Sarr, Grey, Porto, Romero, Bissouma and Moore all had good games. Lankshear out in a good shift on his first team debut. Then Johnson came on and continued his goal scoring streak.
I thought Bergvall was poor, he didn’t seem to be able to get any rhythm to his game, but his replacement, Maddison, wasn’t much better.
A good win with a much changed side keeps our winning going which will only reinforce the squad’s confidence.

Think some of ya just need to put on those adult diapers, climb aboard, and realize this is the way forward. And it’s going to be glorious.

Brilliant result and overall performance given the young team we put out. Porro probably our best player but my word Moore and Gray are special. Bergvall still needs a bit more time and Lankshear had a promising enough debut that I hope we get to see him with our best ten behind him one day.

Ironically the weakest of the kids was probably Sarr, despite his goal.
I can’t believe you said that about Sarr. He everywhere tonight helping out the defense, breaking up play, starting attacks, scored a goal and had a couple of good shots as well. Wow either you’re a hard taskmaster or we’re watching a different game to me😅

Bergvall looks the least ready out of all of them, that’s surprised me. Still did really well, but he continues to be a bit over-eager. Sure he’ll calm down soon enough.

Moore could probably be motm for me, solid on both sides, keeps trying stuff, good decisions. Unofficial assist for the first goal.
Agree based of this performance, I wouldn’t judge based only on this game. He’s had more minutes in the first team than most, it may have had a neg affect on him in losing some confidence. He may also have been eager too impressive after missing the last chance with the Drag red card. I agree he played the least well out of the youngsters, but my view on the game was Lankshear is the least likely to make it at spurs, in terms of his potential. This isn’t my opinion from this game but also the pre season games But his ceiling seems limited whereas Berg has a higher ceiling but under performed last night
